Is that link down again?

And is the date correct -- the gig was really in 2000? They toured in 2002 and I thought that was their first time.

There was talk of a Scion + Tikiman album around that time too -- what happened to that? :(

Sweet! That's looks like a fine party. Reading the thread title is cause enough for me to check discogs and see if there is anything by Rhythm and Sound that I might have overlooked. I love this group so much, and by extension, all Basic Channel, Tikimam and the other collaborators on See Mi Yah and With The Artists, and the Wackies label.

Is my love overblown? I think history will look back on the Basic Channel catalog like it looks back on Bach: technical mastery of the tools married with music of the loveliest portion, that which revels in the joy of the sense of sound.

one year passes...

i put on the self-titled a lot when i want background mood music and always thought it was lovely but kind of minor until today when i listened to it on headphones on a run.. what a beautiful beast, the last half of 'smile' in particular is just so good.

With the Artists is my favorite but I like everything I've heard from R&S

the Versions remixes of With the Artists are even more stretched out and langorous, and all the better for it

That first self-titled compilation is something else; it fits so many moods and situations. With the Artists is probably my second favourite, with We Been Troddin the outstanding track.

self-titled is low-key some of the best music ever made. very little shows the kind of dedication it does to landscapes and their moods.
