I got the Ghost CD/DVD today. Haven't listened to the CD yet. Flipped thru the DVD stuff and it looks cool. I confess that I'm more interested in the latter-day rocking portions then I am the temple bell stuff. Though I like the temple bell stuff. Cool extras too with footage of Ghost playing on the streets of Japan.

I'm curious about the Chameleons DVD I saw today. Live at the Hacienda and somewhere else. Does it look/sound good? saw a cool gang of four dvd today too with live gig/t.v./etc footage (dance fever!). and a cool looking fall dvd of old live stuff. what i really want is the Slayer reign in blood DVD, but i will have to wait until i have more stuff to trade in.

I still haven't watched the Nazareth reunion DVD someone sent me in the mail!!!

anyone/everyone?

the AC/DC Family Jewels Disc One makes my top five validations of existance this year.

I'm probably gonna see a bit of the Vandals DVD later tonight. The girl I'm seeing is a big fan and evidently there's an option called FREESE-CAM where anytime you want you can cut to a close up of Josh Freese playing drums. Only song I know by these guys is their cover of "Summer Lovin'."

Manny Charlton's not on it. But the guitar player has a slight Eddie van Halen thing going and it's OK, even good, for the performance. The drummer died a couple years ago, too, and I think it's Pete Agnew's son who is now in that chair.

Anyway, McCafferty's voice is in fine form and the number selection is good to great. Straight up ugly old men playing heavy rock and roll with some songs that were hits and semi-hits. "Holiday," for example, is tops. McCafferty pulls out a bagpipe and makes like he's playing it for "Loch Lomond." The effect is nice, actually what's going on is the guitarist playing through a talk box in a way that makes it sound similar to a bagpipe, an effect that Manny Charlton was fond of.

Yeah, I like it. Chuck cited it good, too, I think.

I like the Nazareth one and the Leatherface one.

Still waiting to get around to watching the Boomtown Rats one (live in 1979) and the Drive By Truckers one. Still have two Laibach DVDs from late last year that I never quite made it through yet, either...
