John Otway's been doing this for a while...
I was stunned and surprised at Otway's Christmas Lecture. The master of the Theramin now also plays 'Power point'. I have to say he plays it a lot better than the pros - I know, I'm one! John's lecture took us through the ups and downs of his career, comparing his advance with that of 'The Jam' with the bittersweet afterthought of the returns that Polydor got from The Jam versus Otway - slightly more from The Jam. Also, some great video footage of some apocryphal moments in John's life as a microstar.
Apart from playing in the mythical hard rock combo 'Genital Sparrow' I have a serious job as 'the only guitar playing management consultant in the world'. In this guise, it occurred to me that there must be some companies or organisations out there that would benefit from the Otway motivational talk. So, if any of you know of anyone that is sick of hearing the usual after dinner speech from the 'Mountain Climber', why not get John in to show them something about 'Amplifier Climbing'!
