I can't decide!

Neither is my favorite song by either band, but I'd probably go with "Closer".

I love love LOVE "Need You Tonight".

However, "Closer" is one of my favourite songs ever.

I went on a big INXS kick --- er, pardon the pun -- the other day, and it struck how fucking amazing "Burn for You" from The Swing is, especially its lead-in music.

I'd be inclined to go with Closer...but Need You Tonight is so hard to leave behind...they're both great songs. I'd never have thought of pitting them against each other, but they're kind of similar once you start thinking about it.

"Don't Change" is my fave INXS song at the moment. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

"Need You Tonight" and I'm surprised to hear that leap from my typing tapping pinkies.

"Don't Change" does totally rock, `tis true.

NIN-wise, I think Trent's finest moments are still found here....

In Praise of.....the BROKEN e.p. by Nine Inch Nails

I'm with you 100% on Broken. Definitely flexes his muscle in those few short tracks, 'Wish' never ceases to blow me away.

I like "Closer" a lot (not least of all for that beautiful piano song at the end) but "Need You Tonight" is just too goddamn good to lose.

You're not alone.

Ned, you eloquent devil, you. Nice work!

Aw. :-) I like me the VegGrrl. Are there any more at home like you?

Over the past year or so, I've been getting sick of hearing "Closer" played so often on the radio. It would be nice if they would play any other NIN songs once in a while, besides whatever the given newest single is which won't be getting played at all a year from now. (They play "Head Like A Hole" and "Terrible Lie" occasionally, both of which I never liked.) When The Fragile was getting promoted, I was sure that "Into The Void" and "We're In This Together" would become huge enough to remain on modern rock playlists, but I haven't heard either of them on the air since at least 2001. It's a shame.

This would be a more difficult decision, however, if it were "Need You Tonight" Vs. the remix that is simply titled "Closer To God" - track 1 on the Closer EP, which is mindblowing IMO.

I absolutely love INXS and "Need You Tonight," which I consider incomplete without "Mediate." INXS wins.

Why Ned! Such a cad you are. There are plenty more VegemiteGrrls where I came from...none to match my inexhaustive supply of flattery, of course...but plenty, nonetheless.

INXS always impressed me because they at one point had like 500 members and still played all of these really stripped-down space-heavy songs.

Is this where Anthony first posited the NINXS connection? As it were. It's spot on, I have to say.
