After years of talking about it, i finally moved to Portland and have the time to actually do something at night. So, here goes nothing:
Bass Player seeks others to make loud indie/punk rock noises.Reply to: blahblahblah@nottelling

I'm looking to find a like-minded group of folks who give a fuck about music and who're up for putting on a good show, preferably without a massive amount of substance-abuse problems tagging along.
As an intro, I'm 28, live in NE Portland, have a car & a officey dayjob, so I'm available on nights & weekends for rehearsal.
Most of my music influences/faves are bands like Husker Du, the
Replacements, New Order/Joy Division, Ride, MBV, Slowdive, Jesus &
Mary Chain, early Dinosaur Jr, MC5, the Stooges, Modern Lovers, the
Who, Cheap Trick, the Wipers, Superchunk, Big Black, Wire, Spacemen 3,
Spiritualized, Mission of Burma, the Kinks
Mainly indie rock/post-punk/shoegazer(post-hardcore?), in other words.
Think SST/Homestead/SubPop/Merge/Dionysus/Sire/Creation/4AD/Twin/Tone.
Peter Hook & Greg Norton are my Bass Gods.
Drop a line if yer interested. Wanna make an attempt at Dino Jr's "Raisins"?
this is in or around NE Portland

So, a good enough ad? This is crossposted over on ILE, too, but i figure that folks here might get a giggle or something from it.
