C/D, S&D: songs with only guitar in them

Do you like songs with a person singing with only guitar in the backround? I think it works better acoustic, but electric can be good too.

Search: "Dust Bunny"(Bettie Serveert) and just about every Chris Brokaw song that doesn't have tamborien

Destroy: "Good Samaritan" (Killing Joke) only because I know Geordie can play a lot better than that!

If the actual tune is strong enough, it works no matter what arrangement.

But I prefer a little more details in the background than just a lonely guitar. However, this doesn't prevent Oasis' "Married With Children" from being one of the best songs on the "Definitely Maybe" album.

a fairly common way of making records, from robert johnson to bob dylan to robyn hitchcock to the mountain goats. but among people for whom it's the exception rather than the rule...
