Hi everyone.
I have my boyfriend who is going to celebrate his birhtday in two weeks, and he's a guitarist in a rock band, but I know he really enjoys the little keyboards sounds and other music effects which are often in the Neptunes songs, or the sound of guitar in R Kelly (ingnition, sex in the kitchen) for exemple.
I have a 100 euros more or less, which is like 80$.
Please help me find a cool birthday present, a little electronic machine, like a beatbox or something. I don't know that much about music instruments and accessories...
Thanks folks.

He might like a Wah pedal, which is the effect on the "Ignition" song. The best one to get would be Vox, but those are $100 new. You might be able to find a good deal on ebay or something.

a hundred euros is more like 125 bucks, cabaleira. so that wah pedal should be ok.

I'd like to find something, funny, a gadget, but that he could use in some of his own songs.

1. E-Bow - vibrates the guitar string manually creating long drone sounds, very good little gizmo, now has a setting that creates higher harmonics/feedbacky sounds.

www.ebow.com

2. Dictaphone - can be held up to a guitar and the pickups will amplify whatever is played back from the little speaker on the dictaphone, good fun.

3. Vibrator - similar result as an E-Bow but much more variable and unpredictable. Pref a metal one.

Great ! It sounds very fun. I'm gonna check this out and learn more about these items.

Alternatively, you could keep the cash and buy yourself a new mini iPod (one that works!)
;-)
