Why can my top loading cd decks not 'handle' the club bass?

See these things jump and skitter and
skip around and cut out completely when the club bass goes over a
certain level. It's a real intermittent problem. Now there are loads of techy DJ forums about for the would-be Cutmaster and whatnot but i don't fancy them much. ILM you are my only hope!

What can be done to stop the supposedly reliable (and not cheap!) Stanton cd decks hitting the skids use-wise the minute i step into a biggish club/venue?
They work totally fine at home! Most clubs have terrible, old fashioned creaky cd decks, so in most cases taking yr own is the drill. Do i have to like, nail these suckers to the floor?

Is there a really obvious thing i'm missing here?

club bass at home = why, for fuck's sake?

Club bass when playing in clubs = mount the cd player on a block of foam to insulate it from the vibrations.

Yeah, has anyone else dealt with this type of thing? Is the foam thing a standard tool?

That or four tennis balls cut in half. Or one of those annoying things that hangs from the roof and wobbles when you're cueing.

Here's the deal. With Numarks and Technics etc is something called ANTI-SHOCK (tm) and what the freindly neighbourhood local dj shop types don't tell you when you go in all wet behind the ears, is that the cheaper end of say, the Stanton ranges DON'T HAVE THIS FUNCTION AT ALL.

It's crucial. To avoid jumps shocks jiters and bumps *otherwise* you need something called a TIDYFLOAT (tm) which yeah is essentially a bit of sponge that some bright spark thought they could make £££ out of djs with.

Heckfire the work it takes to make the kids get up and dance.

oh and in answer to the question
club bass at home = why, for fuck's sake?
no, i didnt mean i had that at home! i just meant
regular at-home stuff.

vinyl-purists are i'm sure, looking at this type of thread and smirking. Technics vinyl decks having been made with a piece of concrete in them since day one.

Any other examples of make-shift TIDYFLOAT substitutes are welcome!

Jacob which annoying hanging thing is this u speak of?
