The Poets - S/D

Does anybody know anything about The Poets? Their AllMusic page is very helpful, and I found this interview (which I haven't really read yet). Outside of that, they might as well not exist.
That said, I've downloaded Scotland's No. 1 Group and really like it.

They were a mid to late 60's psychedelic band, although I'm not sure how accurate "psychedelic" is for them. Apparently, their cover of "Baby Don't You Do It" got remixed by Gary Glitter, which makes me want to hear the supposedly better original version.
For those who haven't heard anything by them, here's some mp3s of their best songs that I've heard:
Baby Don't You Do It
That's the Way It's Got to Be
In Your Tower
Now We're Thru

Heh, I guess this is less a search and destroy and more "I like this. Please pay attention."
"Some Things I Can't Forget" is another great song by them, probably better than "Now We're Thru" now that I think about it. If anybody's interested by the songs I did post, let me know and I'll put it up too.

I love that version of Baby Don't You Do It.

Wooden Spoon is also amazing. But I don't know "Some Things i Can't Forget," so please do post it, if it strikes you...

they had quite a distinctive guitar sound. i don't think they're one of the best (freak)beat groups but they're still good and consistent.

speaking of andrew loog oldham-associated twee-ness, i have to state for the record how much I love The Poets. i only have one vinyl comp, but i can't tell you how many times i've played it over the years. my fave moody scots. oh, wait, jesus and mary chain. hmmmm, no, i might even like the poets more than them.
