Will "Switch" Become A Huge Summer Hit, ala "Summertime"?

I doubt it, personally. There's something annoying about it that I can't put my finger on.

I haven't heard this track on any local hip-hop stations, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was true in all markets. But, then, I dunno that Will Smith needs to get approval from the hip-hop community to have a huge summer. It worked for Nina Sky last year, tho. (Of course, duh, that's where Nina Sky was coming from, & it's not where WS is coming from - I think I must've taken stooopid pills instead of my multi-vitamin this morning.)

The best thing about this song is how much the beat sounds like Common's "I Am The Music", which makes me think...no.

yeah, it'll peak way before summer. May have already.

there's a track on the album ("I Wish I Made That") where Will laments that "Summertime" is the only hit he's ever had that's been truly embraced by hip hop radio and admits he's jealous of the people who did "Lean Back" and "Drop It Like It's Hot" etc. for the most part the album doesn't really make any concessions to change that situation.

if he pushed the remix w/ Elephant Man then maybe DJ's would pick up on "Switch" more, though.
