I had that sensation happen in a *major* way when I rediscovered "Stumblin' In" a couple years ago. I had this weird vestigial memory of a refrain that began "Our love is alive," dating to days of riding the school bus in 1979, but lacked the rest of the lyric and so could not have meaningfully searched for the song. Heard it on the Boston oldies show "Barry Scott's Lost 45s" and my world was re-aligned.
