http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/4473459.stmA cheaper alternative to Glastonbury festival is being staged, replacing original bands with tribute acts.
Glastonbudget will include performances by Coolplay, Stereotonics, AC/DO, The Jamm, T Rextasy and U2 imitators US4.
Weekend tickets to the 30 April to 1 May festival, at Turnpost Farm in Leicestershire, cost £27.50, compared to £125 for Glastonbury.
Organisers said the event was "about having a good time with quality acts and ale for a fraction of the cost".
'Many greats disbanded'
"All the acts are tributes as many of the greats are disbanded, too expensive or even no longer with us," they explained on the Glastonbudget website.
"We hope to give you the chance to see acts that you have always wished to see, but no longer have the opportunity."
Around 10,000 people are expected at the Leicestershire event, with ticket prices including a donation to charity.
All 112,000 tickets for this year's Glastonbury festival in Pilton, Somerset, were sold in less than three hours earlier this month.

four years pass...
I'm working at this year's event. It sounds like a good laugh. Tribute bands are either awesome in a fun way or terrible in an awesome way, and they've got a good bar.

Who in their right mind would pay £52 plus booking fee to attend this event?

They have a TribFest by us and funnily enough that's always been my response. Tho I think it might cost even more.

I mean it's not even like acid is readily available nowadays.
