my boss is asking if i know a song.
he says it starts with a girl laughing repeatedly for about 30 seconds, then begins with a piano figure and then vocals and then the actual arrangement... says it sounds like the cure or depeche mode. he thinks there might be a lyric that goes something like "go away girl"

help me score browning points please.

by the cure

This is NOT "The Lovecats".

There's no girl laughing at the beginning of "The Lovecats".

The first thing that came to mind was "Hungry Like the Wolf," but that's clearly not it either (no piano).

Actually the first thing that came to mind was "Sensoria" by Cabaret Voltaire but there's no piano.

he heard it on a fairly mainstream radio station that plays everything from skynrd to cyndi lauper by his description, so it could be anything that your midwestern cousin would listen to. i don't mean that in a snotty way.

i wish i didn't want browning points, but a rose by another name, etc...

firstworldman (firstworldman), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:48 (twenty years ago)

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:48 (twenty years ago)

firstworldman (firstworldman), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:52 (twenty years ago)

It might be Art Of Noise's "Beat Box (Diversion One)"?

donut debonair (donut), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 17:58 (twenty years ago)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 26 April 2005 18:54 (twenty years ago)
