Did anyone ever see Nick Cave as "Freak Storm" (hahahahahahaha) in the Tom Dicillo movie Johnny Suede, the one with Brad Pitt? I hear he looks ridiculous.
I loved Adam Faith as Jodie Foster's groovy rock 'n' roll deadbeat dad in Foxes.

Watched that again the other day and completely forgot about the fact that he pops up at the end. Couldn't forget the fish shoes, though.
Re: the McDonalds -- dear Arthur, you forgot the cameo as the wax-lip- eating types in Spirit of 76. "RODNEY SNOD-GRASS!"

Stiv Bators was great in Polyester. And Kylie Minogue was a lovely Green Fairy in Moulin Rouge.

I'd heard Danielle Dax had a cameo in "The Company of Wolves", so watched it very carefully, just in case it was a 'blink and you'll miss it' bit.
No need.
She basically is the whole of the last five minutes in a 'lead' part, basically.
― Mark G, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 14:26 (eighteen years ago)
Oh I remember that! Nudge nudge, wink wink etc

What's that Alan Rudolph film that Neil YOung's in?
Also John Cale is in some film.
― Tom D., Wednesday, 12 December 2007 14:35 (eighteen years ago)
Carl McCoy (of the Nephs) made a fleeting cameo in some completely shitty sci-fi film -- I want to say it was called "Hardware," be wrong.
In any case: BEST: Bauhaus opening proceedings with a live rendition of "Bela Lugosi's Dead" in "The Hunger".
WORST: Iggy Pop in "Tank Girl" -- absolute crap movie.

Florian Fricke in "Signs of Life" and "The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser"

Actually, I think Joe Strummer in Jarmusch's "Mystery Train" trumps all.

Howard Devoto in 24 Hour Party People..."I definitely don't remember this happening"...

I can't think of one better than Bowie as a weary bureacratic Pilate in Last Temptation of Christ, tho Bryan Ferry as a violent sex maniac in Breakfast on Pluto is close.
― Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 14:59 (eighteen years ago)
Jim Jarmusch has a habit of casting musicians, doesn't he: John Lurie, Tom Waits, Rammelzee, Iggy Pop, RZA, GZA, White Stripes, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Joe Strummer... One of the three taxi customers in the Helsinki section of Night on Earth is also a well-known singer here. I think Broken Flowers is the only film of his that doesn't feature musicians.

Almost Bob Dylan terrible
I always thought his being terrible was deliberate. Mind, I was about 12 when I last saw it.

Third vote for the Feelies, and also Su Tissue (Suburban Lawns) in the same scene.

Alice Cooper in "Wayne's World"!!!
Wayne Campbell: So, do you come to Milwaukee often? Alice Cooper: Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers began visiting here in the late 16th century. Pete: Hey, isn't "Milwaukee" an Indian name? Alice Cooper: Yes, Pete, it is. In fact , it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land." Wayne Campbell: I was not aware of that.
