she's from my hometown, her mom's married to my uncle

she was involved in a shady cult-like thing a few years back, apparently this svengali-like character (who happened to be her manager) and her recruited young actress-wannabes and had their way with them, lived together, the works...she spent a good 3 years in prison while everything cleared up, and just a few days ago her manager left prison as well

she -was- a big pop star back in the day, and there was some rather dubious hype/buzz going on when she left prison (big comeback tour and everything), but everything's back to normal now, apparently
