you're supposed to post these BEFOREHAND!

Huk-L, Thursday, 28 April 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

I did. I though it was OK.

daavid (daavid), Thursday, 28 April 2005 14:35 (twenty years ago)

what did they play?

rajeev (rajeev), Thursday, 28 April 2005 14:50 (twenty years ago)

It was the "Daft Punk is Playing at My House" song. Very James Chance-like in the live setting (albeit with less screaming). Nothing spectacular about the music, but they looked like a fun live band.

LCD appeared on Letterman?! wtf

Baaderonixxxorzh (Fabfunk), Thursday, 28 April 2005 15:02 (twenty years ago)

Does Paul Shaffer and the band always clap along to the music during performances? They did last night.

kickitcricket (kickitcricket), Thursday, 28 April 2005 15:44 (twenty years ago)

Usually, Paul adds some of his own 'tinkling' to the mix.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 28 April 2005 16:24 (twenty years ago)

I saw it. Didn't seem as hard as the studio version is.

Also, did anyone happen to catch the Raveonettes on Conan last night? Fuck, they were great. Played a new song from the forth-coming LP. Great sounding guitars -- very Link Wrayish. The dude had a pirate mustache, but the chick is cute.

PB, Thursday, 28 April 2005 16:29 (twenty years ago)

i thought lcd was pretty good (i caught the raveonettes too).

that was a great letterman episode -- amy sedaris, some aspergers/savant dude who could recite pi from memory, lcd soundsystem. first time i've enjoyed letterman that much in years!

i liked the "new wave" poses shaffer and band added during the performance.

fra lippo liposuction (Jody Beth Rosen), Thursday, 28 April 2005 16:40 (twenty years ago)

Post video?

roberton, Thursday, 28 April 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

peter smith (plsmith), Thursday, 28 April 2005 16:56 (twenty years ago)

i mean, even NED RAGGETT couldnt recite pi from memory.

peter smith (plsmith), Thursday, 28 April 2005 16:57 (twenty years ago)

(it's only one t.)

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 28 April 2005 17:33 (twenty years ago)

The guy recited it up to twenty-two thousand and something decimal places.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Thursday, 28 April 2005 17:44 (twenty years ago)

but did it sound sexy?

rogers broseph (deangulberry), Thursday, 28 April 2005 17:45 (twenty years ago)

how much time was he alotted to accomplish this?

andrew m. (andrewmorgan), Thursday, 28 April 2005 18:43 (twenty years ago)

I think he said it took him five hours plus to do it. He only spent a few weeks memorizing it!

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Thursday, 28 April 2005 18:45 (twenty years ago)

FUCK! I missed this!

Did anybody catch the closing bit on Jimmy Kimmel live where Kevin Nealon, Eric Idle, and some Kenny Rogers looking dude had a rootin' tootin' bluegrass-y hoedown, only to be joined promptly by three super wicked bucket drummers and some random marching band tubaist?

I liked the two-bass/sans guitar set-up. I think this was last effectively used on "Big Bottom."

Keith C (kcraw916), Friday, 29 April 2005 00:20 (twenty years ago)

could someone put up a YouSendIt of the video? it'd be helpful. thanks

sovietpanda (sovietpanda), Friday, 29 April 2005 02:41 (twenty years ago)

was that really two basses!? i was looking really hard, and couldn't decide which was bass and which was guitar. that would explain why.

sovietpanda (sovietpanda), Friday, 29 April 2005 14:37 (twenty years ago)

crap, i can't handle torrents on my work PC. hmph. well, if anyone wants to avoid registering, you can use my login:

login - "asdf asdf"
password - "password"

and if anyone can YSI an MPEG or something similar, that'd be great.

rajeev (rajeev), Friday, 29 April 2005 14:53 (twenty years ago)

scroll down for the LCD clip...http://www.prefixblog.com

i thought they did a good job building some intensity into the song.
