WTF?? I think I may well be selling my copy soon, I could probably get hold of the original LP for a few quid quite easily!!
Apparently the Raincoats & Au Pairs 1st albums go for a lot too (I have both of them as well!).
So, any other stupidly overpriced CDs I should think about selling??

The Raincoats 1st album doesn't go for that much - you should get it for £15. There seem to be lots about.

Like the "Let's play Domination" CD, I didn't know it was a hard-to-find item until the recent chat about its existance here. Whether that makes it a 'big bucks on e-bay' item, I wouldn't know unless I sold it there. Which isn't going to happen unless I find more...

oh dear lord. and all hala strana releases are essentially the same. the noo wired amrikuh stuff does bring in obscene amounts of money. $60-75 for a cdr that came out less than a year ago and probably isn't even out of print? WHY NOT!
mutiilation's vampires of black imperial blood (and various other obscure french 'black legions' metal stuff like vlad tepes) used to regularly go for $120+ each.

late-80's early-90's rap stuff on CD that is out of print really goes for a lot these days.
My Two Kings In A Cipher CD (I've never met anyone who bought this as well) doesn't seem to worth much though (wake up, people! lost classic alert! ;-) and Showbiz & AG's Runaway Slaves isn't up for sale (maybe it's THAT RARE!). Not that I'm particularly looking to part with these. If need be, I can always get rid of some Motown Junk!

So, I bought a used, good-condition copy of the first Brides of Funkenstein album on CD for 13 Euros...
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ATGCVW04L._SS500_.jpg
The guy at the record store mentioned it's a rare Japan-only reissue, so I checked Amazon, and saw that the lowest price for even an used copy was over 150 dollars(!). Do some people actually buy these ridiculously-priced rare CDs, or are the folks who sell them at Amazon just hoping to come across the lone fool who would invest such an amount for a CD? Because I might seriously consider selling the album if you can make over 100 bucks on it; it's not even that good a record (though the second track is really nice).
― Tuomas, Monday, 20 December 2010 23:03 (fifteen years ago)
I think your second scenario is the one.
Set it up for "over 100" and leave it, see what happens. If it sells within 6 months, there you go.
― Mark G, Tuesday, 21 December 2010 09:59 (fifteen years ago)
I have sold quite a few CDs in the £20-50 price range on Amazon UK and discogs, so it definitely does happen.
The most expensive was via my work where we found a copy of one of the early Biffy Clyro EPs from before they made it big, released on the local college music course label back in 1999 or so, and sold that for about £130. Which was nice.

― Your cousin, Marvin Cobain (C. Grisso/McCain), Tuesday, 15 March 2011 06:33 (fifteen years ago)
This is very mysterious:
I had a look at what he has on sale, (one of the biggest list of 'current' items I've ever seen on there) and there's a whole bunch of stuff (books, CDs, etc) that have prices like this, even going into the tens of thousands.
Anyway, going into 'completed' items, I find that a couple of $1,000 books have apparently sold. One, a "tips for games for toddlers" which could never be worth that much, even if it had been written by JD Salinger..
So, I go to the 'detail' page for the sale, and it shows the purchaser (masked) and that they paid $34.
Something very fishy about this...... Is this some sort of "get big refund as things didn't sell" scam?
