I caught Sharon Jones last night and she did a song that was introduced with some James Brown preamble. I didn't recognize it as one of her songs but she supplemented the song with a run through of all the dances they used to do down in Alabama when she was a little girl.

So then I was wondering - how many songs out there have a specific dance (or at least the reference to a dance) associated with them? Could it be a thousand? Well, my money says at least a hundred before thread loses momentum. Or people lose interest. Or we run out of songs. List em!
