not enough people know this song. beautifully recorded and produced. very 80s. bears a melodic resemblance to a certain kirsty maccoll record i can't quite recall.

"Sunday People" by The Monroes is certainly a classic.

not enough people know this song.

?!?

(i seem to remember this record getting a lot of play on the NYC and Philadelphia rock and pop channels when i was growing up. one of the "acceptable" new wave songs, i think. that said, it IS grate!)

SAN DIEGO REPRESENT

it's possible the first place i ever heard this one was at the stone pone in asbury park, as played by the pony's sunday night cover band cats on a smooth surface. it is a damn good pop song in spite of this possible fact. a great pop song, actually. but it's not quite the equal of a stone cold classic like badfinger's sorta similar "no matter what."

fact checking cuz (fcc), Thursday, 5 May 2005 04:03 (twenty years ago)

the lyrics are a little confused, it's true. but damn if this isn't beautifully produced.

three years pass...

i was going to start a thread on this song. looks like i already did.

amateurist, Thursday, 17 July 2008 04:50 (seventeen years ago)

amateurist, Thursday, 17 July 2008 04:50 (seventeen years ago)

geir, that song is unlistenable.

amateurist, Thursday, 17 July 2008 08:56 (seventeen years ago)

With the amount of East Coast airplay it got, I'm surprised the group never got to record a full album.

Hideous Lump, Friday, 18 July 2008 03:21 (seventeen years ago)

maybe you should read up on what the people know

velko, Friday, 18 July 2008 03:23 (seventeen years ago)

it was a rhetorical question
