I think this might be too tedious a task for most ILM'rs. Maybe if you just list the first and last only or maybe the most memorible.
Most memorible: 1989, 2 Live Crew
1st: 1988, Beach Boys
Last: uh...probably some shitty band at Lit while waiting to DJ.
Least expected great show: 1999/2000 Sloan

.38 Special/Night Ranger, Summer 1984, SPAC, Saratoga Spring NY -- first ever concert and they put on a goddamn good show, both of 'em
New Order, Spring 1989, Universal Ampitheatre -- ragged, loud, triumphant, audience going crazy
Depeche Mode, summer 1990, Dodger Stadium -- in imperial mode
MBV, February 1991, Roxy -- queasy, over the top, insane, perfect; also MBV, July 1991, Palace -- less queasy and claustrophobic but the concluding 35 minute "You Made Me Realize" chord was from another universe, and then they left, and that was it, forever.
Smashing Pumpkins, CS Dominguez Hills, Lollapalooza 1994 -- yeah, Billy was a completely petulant asshole, and I also wouldn't exchange the way that "Rocket" arced across the crowd for anything ever
Marc Almond, end of 1999, Sun Theatre -- the consummate showman, 2 1/2 hours, something from every album, stunning
The Chameleons, all shows seen in 2000 and 2002 -- sorry, impossible to separate any of them out
Radiohead, 2000, 2001, 2003 -- similarly, though each kept getting better and better
The Frogs, Seattle, May 2003 -- audience baiting as high art
Dead Meadow/Jennifer Gentle, Spaceland, April 2005 -- because the last show you have always seen should be inspiring you to go to more (as did this)

Not one of their finest performances. Mike Campbell was on fire. Axl Fucking Rose showed up for the encore to duet on Knockin' On Heaven's Door and Free Fallin' Swans, McIntosh Hall, Barnard College, 1989- Burning World was the album. Don't know who played drums at this show, but he blew me away. Just POUNDED. Eurythmics, The New Roxy, 1989- Contender for POO. Extraordinary live act.Psychedelic Furs, CBGB, 1990- I'd seen them (sans puppet show) at Darien Lake Fun Country on the Midnight To Midnight tour. This time cleared the cobwebs. A warm-up for dates supporting Book Of Days. No horns, no goofiness, plenty of drone. I'm glad this is how I get to remember them.Chris Whitley, Tramp's, The New Roxy, Wetlands, NYC 1991-1993- Contender for POO. Positively electric, from the industry showcase on. Every single friend I dragged came away a fan.Tibetan Freedom Concert, Golden Gate Park, 1996- Phenomenal lineup, good cause, but I'll be honest here: this makes the list b/c Bjork totally danced with me at the after party. Sadly, I was with a friend and couldn't seal the deal.Crooked Fingers, Knitting Factory Hollywood, 2005- Had low expectations, expected to stand around swaying gently and wondering if we could go home now. Got fully rocked for 1:45. Eric Bachmann (and fine band) still bangs.
Honorable mention to Prince at the Hollywood Bowl, 1997, but he was cut short by the Hollywood Bowl curfew and rushed it a bit.

James Brown, Ontario Place, Toronto (1986?) - two shows, one in the afternoon, one in the evening, over five hours, which means nearly two hours of the JBs (or at least that era's version of the JBs) by themselves!
Killing Joke, Bookie's, Detroit, 1981 - loud as fuck, intense as all get out, homeless person (Youth) on bass and lead visor, the great (Detroit's) L7 opened.
Birthday Party, Trax, Detroit, 1982 - onslaught from start to finish, unlike anything before or since
The Minutemen, Trax, Detroit, 1984 - caffeinated clumps of tunes, ratatatat. Joyous
Butthole Surfers, Trax, Detroit, 1985 - the circus comes to town with Trevor on bass, dressed as Col. Sanders, playing half the show on sousaphone
Tackhead, Mark Stewart, Gary Clail, some place near the lake, Toronto, 1988 - thanks to Adrian Sherwood, the sharpest, heaviest, thumpiest sounding show. Doug Wimbish's bass slaps bruised my ribs.
Al Green, some folk(?) festival in Ann Arbor, 1996 - heavenly, sexy church. A lump in my throat the whole show.
Kraftwerk, State Theatre, Detroit, 1997 - I've never been to a show where everyone there was totally into the show. A spectacle, an amazing sounding spectacle.
Ui, The Lonesome Organist, Blind Pig, Ann Arbor, 1999 - my face hurt afterwards from smiling
Godspeed You Black Emperor, St. Andrew's Hall, Detroit, 2001 - weeks after 9/11, a hypnotic memorial

Inspiral Carpets, The Concert Hall, Feb 1993. The Carpets rocked out pretty good on "Revenge of the Goldfish", and after waiting in -12deg temperatures to get in, 2000 people didn't have any trouble getting their bodies moving and letting off some steam. Depeche Mode, Kingswood Music Theatre June 1994. The word that best describes it: bedlam. The most insane crowd I've ever been a part of. Primal Scream opened, too.
Orbital, some warehouse near Eastern Ave., Nov 1994. Point a gun at me and make me choose, and I'll pick this as the greatest concert I've ever seen.
The Orb, The Opera House, June 1995. A couple of months ago, I heard a bootleg of the Orb on this tour. I'd completely forgotten about the coda to "Towers Of Dub", but the moment it kicked in, memories of hearing it at this gig (and the reactions of everyone around me when that coda hit) became vivid once again. Now that's a show.
Stereolab/Cornershop, The Opera House, May 1996. To its benefit, it seemed like half of Cornershop's set consisted of the two versions of "Jullandar Shere". Stereolab struck the perfect balance between Can-esque spacerock boogie and pop. There are no words to describe the 15-minute version of "Stomach Worm" that closed the show -- having never seen MBV play live, I can only say that it's my "You Made Me Realize". Blur, The Warehouse, March 1997. Out of all the gigs on this list, this was the one whose awesomeness surprised me the most.
GYBE!, Bloor Cinema, Oct 2000. They played better at their March 2003 gig at Palais Royale, but the Oct 2000 gig was a better overall experience. A darkened movie theatre, with a sequence of short independent films/musical montages as the opening "act", it was relaxing but exhilirating.
Mogwai/Bardo Pond, Phoenix Concert Theatre, May 2001. How good was this show? This would have been my fave gig of 2001 just based on BP's set alone.
Scion + Tikiman, Mockingbird, May 2002. Minimal techno from the masters, and a shockingly hyped-up Toronto crowd to boot.
Spiritualized, The Opera House, Oct 2003 (2nd nights' show). I'm really splitting hairs between all the SPZ gigs I've seen, but this one was the most recent -- blues-y, hazy*, gorgeous. (*I was stoned)
In Support of Living, Sneaky Dee's, May 2004. Local band ... the best gig that Slowdive never played.

I take it you saw them in Detroit? Actually, they didn't play "Stomach Worm" too much on that tour. After the gig, I checked the Stereolab online discussion groups and found that they'd only played it two or three times on that tour. Most nights they were closing with 15-minute versions of "Super Electric", which undoubtedly saved a lot of people a lot of drug money as well.

Ken, I forgot about this one, though I was there & at the one in 1994 as well. Did you see the Ginsberg tribute in 98 with Patti, Phillip Glass and Michael Stipe? I was shooting for the UM student newspaper at the time and waited during the day in the empty auditorium as the three of them showed up at the venue and worked out their largely unplanned collaborative numbers on the stage. Somewhere I have some great shots of this archived, particularly of Stipe & Glass.

Why, yes i was there, in fact. i actually didn't know Stipe was gonna be there until he came out onstage. and despite my distaste for most things REM at that time, he was sublime... especially on "E-Bow the Letter". would love to see those pics if you find em.

Cure - March 1984 - Hammersmith Odeon - best gig by miles. I was supposed to leave early to be able to get home, but there was no way I was exiting whilst they were still playing. Numerous encores.
Specimen, Patti Palladin - 1983 - in a church near the Hammermith Odeon. Really good atmosphere compensated for the so so music.
Soft Cell farewell - January 1984? - Hammersmith Palais
Jayne County - Sir George Robey - 1984/1985?
The Cramps - 1986 - Hammersmith Palais, mesmerised by Fur.
Banshees - 1988 - Royal Albert Hall

Yes -- Close to the Edge tour, at Nassau Coliseum. Oh, so many shows at the Coliseum. Wings Over America! ELP! Jethro Tull! Elton John! Kinks!
Alice Cooper -- Billion Dollar Babies tour at MSG
Kiss/Teenage Lust/Iggy & the Stooges/Blue Oyster Cult at Academy of Music -- so many BOC shows, 'cause my buddy's uncle was in the band. Saw one with Triumverat opening! Saw BOC / Faces at MSG! Saw BOC / Kiss at Nassau Coliseum!
The Who -- Quadraphenia tour, MSG, with Golden Earring!
NY Dolls -- My Father's Place, 74, but no Arthur 'cause his hand was in a cast. And all those others at My Father's Place! Television! Captain Beefheart! Gang of Four / Buzzcocks! Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five!
Stones at MSG, '75, first tour with Ronnie Wood
Talking Heads at CBGB. And all those others at CBs! Television! Blondie! Dead Boys / Damned! Dictators! B52s!
Thin Lizzy / BOC at the Palladium. And all those others at the Palladium! Clash (twice)! Rush / Bob Seger! Blondie / Ramones! Blondie / Iggy! Suicide / Runaways (Joan Jett version) / Ramones!
Peter Frampton at Calderone Concert Hall! (Before Frampton Comes Alive!) Oh, so many shows at the Calderone Concert Hall! Gentle Giant! Kiss! (Actually, Gentle Giant and Kiss were on the same night, but separate admissions, with Kiss doing a midnight show. I wonder how many lunatics went to both.)
M.I.A. at the Knitting Factory!
(reformed) New York Dolls at Irving Plaza, a week ago! I'd put that one on a par with anything on the list above.

T. Heads, Stop Making Sense tour
Kinks, around '85, Nashville, amazing show and good mescaline as I recall
Beefheart, Exit/In, '78
The Box Tops's first reunion show, late '80s
James Carter, Village Vanguard, around '93, stunning...
Jimmy Scott, Bottom Line, '92?
Panther Burns, '81, they was all drunk and it didn't matter one bit
The Fieldstones, Green's Lounge, Memphis, before the place burned down
Booker T. and the MGs, Memphis, '94
Del Shannon, Nashville, about '85, incredible performance
The Zombies, last year, Nashville
Ann Peebles and Syl Johson w/ Hi Rhythm Section, Memphis, about '91
Sonny Rollins, New Daisy, Memphis, around same time
Elvis Costello, Ryman Auditorium, '96

Lambchop/Yo La Tengo, 11 March 2000, G.A.M.H., matinee and eve. shows
Sonic Youth with Jesus Lizard opening, New Daisy, Memphis, 1990
Richard Thompson, Birmingham City Stages, mid 1990s. Solo/acoustic and fucking owned everybody. Nobody breathed unless he OK'd it.
Doo Rag/The Cramps, mid/late 1990s. The Cramps were good, but Doo Rag were GRATE.
Boredoms, Slim's, SF, 1999? Hovercraft, the opener, were also great, and the mini-show preview from inside the VW bus on the street was good. The 20-Tank Brewery was open across the street then, and I got happily hammered before the show.
Masada, Barristers, Memphis, November 1997. Both sets.
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, New Daisy, Memphis, 1996. R.L. Burnside opened, a few days after I'd seen him at Proud Larry's in Oxford.
Tortoise, Young Ave. Deli, Memphis, 2004. They brought the rock a lot harder live than on the last album.
BONUS DOZEN:-Impala/Compulsive Gamblers New Years Eve show, Barristers, Memphis-Medeski, Martin & Wood, Proud Larry's, Oxford MS, 1995. Cold Tuesday night, nearly empty bar; MMW funneled a lot of irritation and bad vibes into performance energy. - Albert King, on the Drill Field, Miss. State University, summer 1982.- BB King, 1 September 1983, Fulton Chapel, Ole Miss- Yo Miles!, Fillmore, SF, 2000 or '01- Big Star, New Daisy, Memphis, mid 90s- Masada, SF Jazz Fest, Temple Emanu-El, Nov. '98 or '99- Eugene Chadbourne, Young Ave. Deli, Memphis, 1998? Everybody who was there to eat ran out covering their ears when Dr. C. started playing the electric toaster.- Polvo, Young Ave. Deli, Memphis, late 90s. Covering The Who's "Sparks" went over so well they did it again later in the set.- Sonic Youth "secret gig," Barristers, Memphis, when they were in town recording "Washing Machine." A 25-minute instrumental set.- Lambchop/Character, Belcourt Theatre, Nashville, 2002 or 2003. Character was a bunch of kids who looked like they were still in high school and played like the Tortoise Junior Auxiliary, complete with a little xylophone instead of the marimba/vibes.- Go-Gos, Humphrey Coliseum, Starkville Miss., 1984. Might be the loudest show I've ever been to, incl. Faust, Jesus Lizard, Kid606.
Disappointing for one reason or another: Stereolab at the Fillmore, Will Oldham in Oxford, Faust at the GAMH, King Crimson in St. Louis (2003), Masada at Yoshi's.

A couple more: the first Big Star reunion up in Missouri. I was so glad Chilton decided to do "Duke of Earl."
And, Masada, somewhere in downtown Memphis around '95, Barristers? I forget where it was, but it was fantastic, the third or fourth time I'd gotten to see Joey Baron.
CeDell Davis, Nashville, some club on Albion St. near TSU, maybe '85? With Robert Palmer (critic not singer) on clarinet. Much better than anything CeDell ever did on record, I think.

Husker Du/Plan 9/Rash of Stabbings/Volcano Suns, The Channel, 1985 My first real underground gig. Parents dropped me off nervously, as a skinhead was stomping around the parking lot with some huge chunk of scrap metal. Norton broke a bass string. They did Reoccurring Dreams, I'm pretty sure. Crowd was all leather and spikes. Yet it ended with the Mary Tyler Moore theme and Ticket to Ride. Husker Du got progressively more boring each subsequent time I saw 'em, but this was great.
Minutemen/Brother A West/U Men/Expando Brain, the Rat, 1985. Boon was even better than Du. U Men were my first dose of Northwest Grunge- it wasn't pretty. Expando Brain dude did a solo on the guitar the consisted of strumming one chord for 2 minutes, and it was amazing. Brother A West destroyed my fragile eggshell mind. Minutemen did "Subsititue" tying my classic rock upbringing to the rest of my life. This show was the crux of it all for me.
Bad Brains/Half Life(?), Skibo Ballroom CMU, 1987. They returned all the food the radio station had made for them 'cause it had been made by a woman or something. Violated Rasta rules. Or maybe they were just pricks. HR was tied to a chair most of the show, but it was still nuts. Especially once he "broke free". Showmen indeed!
Swans, 9:30, 1988. Totally pummeling. Never heard anyone before or since just sound so BIG.
Savage Republic, some little club in West London, 1988. Not many people were there, but they were stunning. Oil drum from the alley, 6-stings tuned to b.
Napalm Death/Bolt Thrower/etc - early 1989, London. Was it at London Polytechnic? I went up to the balcony, and bodies were dropping from the tops of the PA, down into the pit. Like Dante! A fully realized hell.
Flat Duo Jets/Chickasaw Mud Puppies, TT the Bears, 1991 or '92. The beginning of my migration to NC. Dexter was wearing an orange tux with tails. Sing Sing Sing explained swing to me. A long, long set I didn't want to end. I think there were less than a dozen people by the end of the night. But it never let up for me.
PJ Harvey/Gallon Drunk, Axis?, 1993. Gallon Drunk had this huge, bowel-emptying saxophone. The room was full of young women who'd just found a voice in PJ. I felt like an outsider to the mood, but never have I sensed such a connection between performer and audience.
Rev. Horton Heat - Graffiti , 1994. First show seen with my future wife, "Slow" made her nervous and turned on. I'd seen 'em a few times before, but they'd held back compared to this.
Dexter Romweber/Legendary Shackshakers - Local 506-Sleazefest, 2003. Legendary Shackshakers are yet to capture their energy on disc, but this show gig spooked out a jaded rock fan. This was the first time I saw Dexter perform "Brazil" It floated to heaven.

*Nile/Impaled/Incantation, 2000: incredible lineup, $7 admission
*Deicide, 2012: most of Benton's criticism is earned, but never let it be said that he doesn't lay it out there on stage.
*Jay-Z/Kanye, 2011: WTT tour. Great set lists and energy.
*High on Fire, 2014: might be the best show I've ever seen
*Danzig, 2013: a Misfits set with Doyle was included.
*Carcass, MDF, 2013: A show I thought I'd never see. Magical.
*Bad Religion, 2014: people who rock that hard in their 50s deserve a hat tip
*Immolation, 1999: my first death metal show ever.
*Nocturnus, A.D., any show: one of my favorite live acts
*King Diamond/Slayer, 2015: two of my top tens all time.
*Cannibal Corpse, 2015: my knee injury was worth it
