Song ID: old school rap song

If anyone could identify this song for me, they would be my best friend FOREVER. Normally I don't need help with this sort of thing, but ...

The song in question is an old-school rap line with a real funky bassline. This song is playing in the background during Boyz n the Hood in the scene were Tre first moves into his Dad's neighborhood. I think it's in the part where he meets Dougboy and co. but his dad tells him to rake the leaves. It's blaring in the background of some neighbor's car or boombox.

It's not on the Boyz n the Hood OST. It might be listed somewhere in the credit but I never bothered to look. Like I said, it's only in the background so it might not be. Please help.

Lyrics please? I can't remember that movie well enough otherwise.

Oh my God I fucking found it not ten minutes after posting thanks to the magic of Rhapsody's old school rap radio station. "Jam On It" by Newcleus. This song has the best bassline ever.

Secondary question: Do any other songs have this bassline? (It seems like there's a good chance that this was originally sampled.)

You couldn't remember "Jam On It"? You getting old, Bingo.

Old? My problem is that I'm too young.

Jam On It repceded the age of sampling by a number of years. A lot of people have sorta ripped it off or whatever, but never to any success.

I will say that Computer Age (Push the Button) is my fave Newcleus song though, with Jam On It being a close 2nd.

and by repceded, I mean preceeded...

So, I'm sitting here trying to remember the "Jam On It" bassline, and all I can sing is "Axel F". Damn multi-threading.

Damnit!

"When you feelin' like you gonna dance all night, then go on ahead and flaunt it..."

This might as well the time and place to ask who first came up with the "Don't stop, get it, get it" phrase that De La Soul recycles on the Gorillaz single...

So, I'm sitting here trying to remember the "Axel F" bassline, and all I can sing is "Situation".

I agree that "Don't stop, get it, get it" on "Feel Good Inc" is naggingly familiar, but my brain keeps saying "Outhere Brothers". Which it can't be. Er, can it?
