This is exactly why they are CLASSIC. I don't own a single album and probably never will, but I feel just a little bit happier knowing that groups like Cradle Of Filth exist. "Her Ghost In The Fog" is one of the best songs I heard in 2000.

Know they not that during the real third occurence of Fimbulvetr, Naglfar, the ship made out of dead men's nails, will carry the frost giants to the battlefield, Vigrid....
But that is for another time and place, just because we know eagles eat bagels, it doesn't necessarily mean beagles hate seagulls if you get my drift, Hoij!

filth: awful. this is like the music that would be on something like Save The Last Dance, that sort of film about a struggling black dancer in the heart of the Big Apple. and he meets this woman who trains him. this would be the bit where he's coming back to life in the spotlight. and he'd be in the spotlight, and he'd just be rehearsing...and he does these spins, and suddenly he'd spin around and there'd be a whole crowd of people.
allender: i only like the Bat Out Of Hell album. The first one.
filth: Shat Out Of Hell. that should be our next album, with just a huge anus on the cover, but like really, really worked up...pshhew. dragon bursting forth.

'the black goddess rises' is a really good tune.
hard to tell how serious these guys were even way back then, but this tune is... competent and fun!
― Charlie Howard, Tuesday, 20 November 2007 14:44 (eighteen years ago)
I quite enjoy their cover of Heaven 17's "Temptation."
― Alex in NYC, Tuesday, 20 November 2007 18:16 (eighteen years ago)
"Competent and Fun" should be the name of their next album

lol it kinda seemed like a satanic Monty Python sketch

Those guys are on other black metal threads somewhere. Really funny stuff.
― Robert Adam Gilmour, Monday, 6 April 2015 21:09 (ten years ago)
I like Vempire. so sue me

Oh yeah it's the only CoF record that is worth holding on to. Does everything the band ever wanted to convey in a brief and intense thirty-odd minutes.

That 2005 conversation is exactly how I've always imagined It and All of Abruptum talk to each other.
― Devilock, Sunday, 12 April 2015 22:11 (ten years ago)
Tried to search their other conversation about their goth girlfriends called stuff like Morgana and Lilith, but no luck.

Janne Karlsson was obv moley/colin but I don't think I ever knew who Mr. Vas Djifrens was. Classic in any case.

Yes, I have specific objection to Cradle of Filth melodies, some of which use hejaz and other Islamic-influenced musical scales. They think we do not notice this! Ha! We notice, Dani Filth, we hear it all. Of this black metal impurity I will only say this: when you sleep under the frostmoon, wholly unwatched are your carrots and your cabbages. No more than this need be said.― Janne Karlsson (moley), Sunday, November 13, 2005 11:30 PM Bookmark Flag Post Permalink
