I am being forced to do a radio interview explaining the differences between various genres of dance music to the other 60s. Whilst I know this, I'm going to have problems making it relevant to older people. Any suguestions?

if you get stuck just go 'BLING BLING!! BLING BLING!!'

and all will be right with the world.

Just done it. Radio Solent. Oh dear. Cheesy local radio DJ asking me if he should say 'Roll another phat one'. It was from a story on Ana Nova about clubbing breaks for 'Funky fifties and swinging sixties'.

What genres did you recommend?

They wanted explanation rather than recomendation. I'm so used to talking in shorthand to people with similar musical background and points of reference to my own that I went into a blind panic ten minutes before. I ended up in a strange cul-de-sac trying to explain the difference between fat and phat. How? Why?

I say go with the "less is more" approach, by saying things like "this stuff is good, and stuff." or go the dada approach, and say "This genre is different because I am a warm football."

Pretend you're on crack and start chanting lyrics from the Grateful Dead backwards. I am sure they will hail you as the new shaman(ette).
