Easy question: What are the last three MP3s you downloaded. You can also talk about'em. Actually *do* tell how swell/shite the songs are.

notwist - one with the freaks : ok guitar pop with electronic twitches; some track by the hives : sounds just like all the bands that took over australia's live music scene in the 70s - awfull; optiganly your - gepetto : cute and increasingly irritating currently still wonderfull.

philT, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've been downloading mostly electro tracks. "Frank Sinatra"-Miss Kittin,"Space is the place"-Jonzun crew and "Noddy Holder"-Jedi Knights. And I've been downloading anything I can get from Les Rallizes Denudes. THEY FUCKIN' RULE!!

Michael Bourke, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Dave Douglas/Tiny Bell Trio - "Ferrous"
The Hanatarash - "We Are 0:00"
Zamla Mammaz Manna - "Papa (with Right of Veto)"

dleone, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ronnie Spector--anything I can find on evil Morpheus. The Marvelettes--ditto. And a whole lotta Emiliana Torrini remixes, but only because I have a huge theoretical crush on her.

And the first two, of course, are totally cool. It's amazing how well written those songs were--esp considering the factory-like settings under which many of them were spawn.

Mickey Black Eyes, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I have never downloaded an MP3. *Sigh* My computer speakers broke three years ago.

jel, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Three from Funky 16 Corners, the compilation from Peanut Butter Wolf's Stones Throw label that was reviewed by Pitchfork last week. "Hey get up brothers!" Yeah, it's funky enough.

Curt, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Chemical Brothers-Star Guitar (2 weeks ago or so)

Royksopp-Poor Leno (2 months ago)

Groove Armada-Superstylin' (longer than the above.)

Ronan, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

1) Pink - Get the party started (remix) -- Good!
2) Sophie Ellis Bextor - Murder on the Dancefloor -- Gooder!
3) The Clientele - Joseph Cornell -- Not Bad!

Chupa-Cabras, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Flock of Seagulls - Wishing
Herbert - It's Only
Outkast - Ain't No Thang

The Herbert hasn't done anything for me on one listen, but the other two are awesome (though I had heard them both before).

Vinnie, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I just downloaded the Super_Collider album, which I hadn't heard since the year it was released. God it's good. "Darn Cold Way O' Lovin'" really did change the way I think about music.

Keiko, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Honda, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Robert Wyatt - "I'm A Believer" (stunning--I now need to buy the ep box)

Dave Grohl - "Arms Wide Open" (Creed cover from a radio show, funny to hear once or twice)

Adam Ant - "Prince Charming" (humanity's artistic zenith to date?)

dan, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

the avalanches: since i left you. monaco: want do you want from me. appliance: a gentle cycle revolution.

cecilia, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

billy synth "7 and 7 is" - some punky snotty guy covering love. nice but not as good, in the synthpunk sweepstakes as the screamers.

zoviet france "norsch tauss" from 1983 or something. my love for industrial when industrial meant "TG-sounding" will never die.

negura bunget "sala molksa" - from mp3.com. romanian black metal! pretty interesting, musically, as well, with an actual subtle touch to the synthesizers for a change. nice!

your null fame, Monday, 28 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mickey Black Eyes, Tuesday, 29 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

alex in montreal: I got 'em on audiogalaxy. I got about 4 songs already. A couple of live tracks (Enter the mirror, A memory is far) and 2 others (The last one, Otherwise my conviction). There's a few more there too.

Michael Bourke, Tuesday, 29 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Several Louis Philippe tracks from his new site - I just love 'You Mary You'.

Are they any good? well, ive only had them a day, and the godspeed offshoot ones (#2&3) are good, and the first one is absolutely amazing!

well recommended.

anthony, Tuesday, 29 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Just Like Henry by Dressy Bessy - So far it just makes me wish my clothes were more hip. Is this a subliminal connection thing I wonder?

Moola Moola by Jordy Birch (the guy who used to be in Pure) - It's just a bit of silly fun. Hoo ha.

Caring is Creepy by The Shins - This is easily the best thing I've heard in weeks, months, ever? I'm madly in love with it. Can't stop hitting rewind. I really hope this one isn't just another meaningess crush.

static, Tuesday, 29 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The entire works of the Joe Merrick Armada.

mr. sparkle, Tuesday, 29 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The Isley Brothers' "Behind A Painted Smile" and "This Old Heart Of Mine" because they are all emotions I ever want to feel distilled.

Dee C.Lee's "See The Day", one of the few good recurring Sloppy Bits (see also: "You're The Best Thing", "The Word Girl") because it's fundamental: will you survive to see the moment everything you stand for either comes true or ceases to make sense? So much *meaning* in there.

Robin Carmody, Tuesday, 29 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

two weeks pass...
Tainted Love by Gloria Jonessss.
Destiny - Zero 7
3 AWay - Pretty Girls Make Graves

helenfordsdale, Saturday, 16 February 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I just finished downloading Barry Adamson's "Dirty Barry", and I am listening to it for the first time.

I also downloaded Kleenex's "1978" (Does it last just one minute, or is it not complete?) and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's "Red Eyes And Tears" (everybody is talking about them, so I had to know them. This is the only song I listened to, but I don“t like it too much).
