try creating a fake band comprised entirely of members from other great bands but make sure they were kicked out before their original band reached greatness.
so far i came up with a drum-heavy all-star group comprised of pete best(ex-beatles), chad channing(ex-nirvana), and dave mustaine(ex-metallica).

Angus Maclise
Chevy Chase

(this is turning into more of an All Star Reject Drum Circle than a Band)

Guitar - Wurzel (ex- Motorhead)
Drums - Clive Burr (ex-Iron Maiden)
Guitar - Pete Willis(ex-Def Leppard)
Keyboards - Lol Tolhurst (ex-Cure)
Bass - Mike Starr (ex-Alice in Chains)
Vocals - Ripper Ownes (ex-Judas Priest)

Lol might feel a bit out of place here.

Greatness is always a matter of debate but-
Paul Di'Anno out of Iron Maiden
That singer (Dave?) out of early MBV when they were a bit like the Primitives
Ian Stewart, the Golfing Stone.

Echo (Echo and the Bunnymen's drum machine that inspired part of their name), Glenn Matlock (Sex Pistols), and John Foxx (Ultravox)

Ian Riese-Moraine's all but an ark-lark! (Eastern Mantra), Friday, 3 June 2005 23:11 (twenty years ago)
