piscesboy, Monday, 6 June 2005 12:28 (twenty years ago)

they were little more than OK there last year
*ducks*

lukey (Lukey G), Monday, 6 June 2005 13:04 (twenty years ago)

they were the highlight last year, as far as stage performances go.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Monday, 6 June 2005 14:31 (twenty years ago)

I am just totally delighted that I will be able to end what will probably be my last Glasto with my first proper pyramid stage headliner (as wd have been the case if Kylie played too obv.)

Tom (Groke), Monday, 6 June 2005 14:36 (twenty years ago)

Are you retiring from the experience, Tom? But the mudpies and the pot!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 6 June 2005 14:39 (twenty years ago)

2006 = no glasto anyway

2007+ = fingers crossed I will be a dad by then and so have better things to do with my weekend than tool about in the mud.

Tom (Groke), Monday, 6 June 2005 14:41 (twenty years ago)

It's sort of good but......they are the exact same every time you see them. They were the source of my "live dance music is like watching a play" comment, I must confess.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 6 June 2005 18:36 (twenty years ago)

umm - trust me.

after several years of parenting .. you will be gagging to get back to the mud.

this year is my first time - a release from parental duties for a few days.

words cannot describe the complex emotions i am experiencing already.

though i have to say the lack of kylie has put a dampner on things for me and this replacement just means more time in the hip hop tent ..

mark e (mark e), Monday, 6 June 2005 18:42 (twenty years ago)

they are the exact same every time you see them

well it will be the same set as last year's I imagine but with added 'Oh My Gosh', but who does this 'same every time' thing NOT apply to?

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Monday, 6 June 2005 19:53 (twenty years ago)

Underworld, Chemical Brothers, Orbital! (all djs)

Not that I am particularly miffed about the Jaxx, I was just really looking forward to Kylie, and I do think as brilliant as the Jaxx was the first time, I've seen them 3 more times since and found it boring.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 6 June 2005 20:19 (twenty years ago)

I never see a band more than twice within a year.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Monday, 6 June 2005 20:26 (twenty years ago)

Oh yeah last time I saw them was summer 2004, before that summer 2003, summer 2002, christmas 2001!

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 6 June 2005 20:29 (twenty years ago)

dance acts are as interesting to watch as hip hop acts, generally.

titchyschneider (titchyschneider), Monday, 6 June 2005 21:23 (twenty years ago)

I make no exception for most rock acts either, they suck live too, plus the music is worse.

Underworld are the only big dance act I really care to see live ever again at this stage, though inevitably there'll be others.
