There's all the usual folky / global music stuff - with the occasional act of solid gold - but really it's all about wondering around marvelling at the flaggy flags and the painted children blowing bubbles and eating pies and what have you.
The very worst thing is the municipality of it all - you'd do hard to forget you're in the middle of Reading, especially when the Womad Disco kicks off in the leisure centre and all the local kids brandishing their free tickets and rocks of crack spill in across the the auditorium eating each others faces and punching your shins with their customised longboards.
Your best bet - and this is what we're doing this year - is just to go for the camping outside. You don't even need to show a ticket (well, we didn't last year). You just ramp up, camp out, and meet some good, mellow people.
