Hi dere. Great fingerpickin murder ballady goodness. Rockists might claim it's not authentic because it's not eighty years old, but they can eat one dick (as usual.) Her new album (
The Saga of Mayflower May on Eclipse), I enjoy, despite occasional lyrical cringiness ("sell her to the gypsy for a jar of metal coins / take her to mountain, and thrust yourself into her loins" eeek.) The non-guitar instrumentation is more pronounced than on her first album, which basically consisted of low-mixed organ or ebow'd guitar (and one banjo song.) On this one we get some slightly out of place tin whistle and piano. the understated organ is still there on a few tracks, though.
