Has anyone heard these guys? Their has come out, and I've heard they sound remniscent of early Mercury Rev, among other things.

Sorry mate, their new album. The electronics guy from the super furries apparently produced the new one.

the first (?) single 'freedom of the hiway' is a lovely lovely thing.

I've got their Koala-Koordination album, which is their 3rd I think - Its a good album but it does sound very, very similar to the Super Furry animals.

Not heard their new one though - 'Ill Gotton Game' is it??

Great band at times, very underrated in most circles aside from Welsh language ones. The new one has a tendency to wander a bit, but the good moments are typically fine. I've got a lot of nostalgic love for their first album Screen Memories, although fuck knows how you'd get hold of it nowadays

ZABRINSKI

ILL GOTTEN GAME

JUNE 2005

Renowned Welsh record label ANKSTMUSIK records will be releasing the new ZABRINSKI album 'Ill Gotten Game' ( cat no ANKST 113 ) on Monday the 13th of June through Shellshock Distribution .

'Ill Gotten Game' is the follow up to the critically acclaimed 'Koala Ko-Ordination' and will be the third album the band have recorded for ankst and without doubt it is one of the finest releases the label has been assosciated with in its seventeen year history .

Already Radio 1's youngest DJ Huw Stephens has claimed that 'Ill gotten game' is a masterpiece and that 'Feeding on Our Filth' was voted single of the week on his show by the listeners

This new album easily places the band at the forefront of the latest generation of young british bands who fearlessly mix killer melodies with an adventurous mix of radical recording techniques , classic song compositions and a recognisable band sound that is all their own.

The album includes a re-working of their singles 'Executive Decision' ( a brave and by now classic reflection on the warmongering New Britain and a recent recipient of the prestigous Single of The Year award in December 2004's yearly roundup in Record Collector magazine ); and the equally catchy and unsettling 'Feeding on our filth' (which was available as a 7" only single on their recent support slot on the last Super Furry Animals UK tour ) .

Brand new highlights include the bi-polar 'Ill gotten game' , the extended melody forest that is 'Hit The Rez' and 'GNVQ' .

This album has an incredible freshness and indescribable warmth and is the full realization of the band's early promise . Recorded and mixed at their mysterious Cardiff studios Ill Gotten Game is an album for the whole world . This version is also released with two excellent promo videos .

ZABRINSKI are

Matthew Durbridge - Vocals/Guitar/Electronics , Gareth Richardson - Guitar , Rhun Lenny - Bass , Owain Jones - Drums , Kris Jenkins - Percussion / Electronics .

Track Listing is

1. Ill Gotten Game ( pts 1+2 ) 2.Feeding on our filth 3.GNVQ 4.Executive Decision

5.Mother my faith in human kindess has somewhat faded recently 6.Hit the Rez

7.Seal my Cave 8.Society and stuff 9.Go Clone Alone .

My understanding is that Cian Ciaran of SFA produced it.

Should get that new album here. Am currently listening to Yeti again for the first time in a while, much better than I had remembered it and I really liked it to start with!

Listened to their last one, Ill Gotten Game, several times in the last couple days. They're like the perfect blend of The Boo Radleys, Super Furry Animals and Beta Band. It's a shame they cut their career short. They really went out on their best album. Shame they're not better known.
