I think when I was like 12 I would accidentally go to school with CD's on pause like all day pretty often.

Creedence Clearwater Revival, Chronicle (a personal favorite). I believe it was paused on "I Heard it Through the Grapevine."

"She bit her dog?"

You mean you broke the CD or the CD player?

This is a really interesting experiment. We can observe the degradation of the CD as a result of prolonged exposure to the readout laser. Get back to us. Take pictures, if necessary.

I've done on the CD player I have at work for a weekend all the time...it's still running.

It's a lot harder on the player than the disc, motor function wise. I do it on my DVD player all the time.

My player....I have to keep opening and closing the tray for it to recognize the cd.

What's really bad is when you're tape player doesn't stop at the end of the tape and it takes you several days to notice you've got a tape in there still grinding away.

Develop one OCD and problems like this will never happen. You can't leave your home until you've checked every electrical appliance thoroughly and unplugged the real dangerous ones.

I often forget to stop the record when it reaches the end, so the needle will just be drifting around in the runout groove for hours until finally a huge startling burst of noise blasts out of nowhere when the needle jumps over to the label.

Doesn't stop at the end? Do you have the original tape player or something?

I already have one CD related OCD: all my cd's *MUST* be exactly upright in their cases. Sometimes I have to get up out of bed during the night when I remember (correctly or not) that I didn't put one back correctly or that I may have knocked one of them askew during the day....
