You know, I'm just now noticing that Michael Jackson is kind of funny looking.

Whole E Shit, Whole E Shit, Whole E Shit!

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Monday, 13 June 2005 19:48 (twenty years ago)

WTF!!

Damn you Alex! I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight. (Well, that also could be connected to the fact that the Foos album's coming out tomorrow, too, but why'd ya make it worse???)

Aja (aja), Monday, 13 June 2005 19:50 (twenty years ago)

You sleep should not be disturbed by either event, Aja.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 13 June 2005 19:50 (twenty years ago)

the bbc website offers live audio coverage from the courtroom but says "This is a live audio feed from the Santa Maria courthouse. It will remain silent until the verdict is imminent. Stay on this page to hear court clerk Lorna Frey read the verdict." and it has been silent for the 2.5 minutes I've been connected.

gspm (gspm), Monday, 13 June 2005 19:51 (twenty years ago)

come on, when are they gonna announce?

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Monday, 13 June 2005 19:52 (twenty years ago)

when jackson shows up at the courthouse.

Ian John50n (orion), Monday, 13 June 2005 19:53 (twenty years ago)

has anyone been smashing up copies of thriller durring this whole mess?

the only mobs of people atatched to this mess, that i've noticed, are the rabid fans demanding his immediate exoneration...

What do you mean??? Did you look at the picture you posted??? Plus, when I get that damn album I'm going to listen to probably "End Over End" off the rock side first, and "Razor" off the acoustic side first. I should have never listened to them before the record comes out because I want to listen to them again. (End Over End would have been better acoustic, IMO.)

Oh, whatever. I'm just pissed I didn't win the album off the radio this morning. That's what you get for being caller 2 instead of 1!!!!

Alex, I promise you I'll be the same way when the new Killing Joke album is about to come out, as well as the DVD.

Aja (aja), Monday, 13 June 2005 19:59 (twenty years ago)

he's arrived at the courthouse

Banana Nutrament (ghostface), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

he looks like he's gonna die. i feel sorry for the guy

Susan Douglas (Susan Douglas), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:14 (twenty years ago)

is he wearing the same glasses phil spector wore in court?

Susan Douglas (Susan Douglas), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:14 (twenty years ago)

ct 1 - not guilty
ct 2 - not guilty

gspm (gspm), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

Ha. What a load of garbage. Guy's guilty as sin.

I think it's funny that his middle name is "Joe." Just "Joe."

PB, Monday, 13 June 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

ct 3 - not guilty (I sense a trend)

gspm (gspm), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

yeah, Joe is a funny middle name.

Andrzej B. (Andrzej B.), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:17 (twenty years ago)

How many freaking counts are there???

I'm at about nine.

Aja (aja), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:17 (twenty years ago)

Not.

Guilty.

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)

huh. not guilty all around. not surprising at all.

gspm (gspm), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)

From CNN:

Michael Jackson found innocent on all 10 counts in his child molestation trial.

righteousmaelstrom (righteousmaelstrom), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)

hurray!

Susan Douglas (Susan Douglas), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:21 (twenty years ago)

Billy Pilgrim (Billy Pilgrim), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:24 (twenty years ago)

"ice cream" party for all the kids back at Neverland!

Correction...ice cream lock-in.

PappaWheelie (PappaWheelie), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:24 (twenty years ago)

Someone on tv just called him "The Teflon Molestor." Let's see if that catches on...

PB, Monday, 13 June 2005 20:26 (twenty years ago)

that lucky wierd fucker

how many michael jackson songs are playing round the world right now?

b b, Monday, 13 June 2005 20:28 (twenty years ago)

I don't think he molested any Teflon.

But damn, yo: Jackson hasn't had a sweep like this since the '84 Grammys.

Joseph McCombs (Joseph McCombs), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:29 (twenty years ago)

hahahaha

b b, Monday, 13 June 2005 20:30 (twenty years ago)

a hee-hee

i'm happy with the verdict

chris andrews (fraew), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:33 (twenty years ago)

I didn't know what I was looking forward to more: the prospect of Michael Jackson in jail or the prospect of the society allowing Michael Jackson's weirdness grow and flourish, unfettered, well into his old age. Now I think (2) is by far the more entertaining option. I mean, the man is 46 years old! Imagine him at 60!!!

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:38 (twenty years ago)

I guess I'm happy that at least another person doesn't have to just fucking rot in a jail cell. Our whole penal system is barbaric and fucked.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:40 (twenty years ago)

joseph OTM and ZING

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:44 (twenty years ago)

I guess I'm happy that at least another person doesn't have to just fucking rot in a jail cell. Our whole penal system is barbaric and fucked.

Yes, I'd much rather have him free to molest at will.

PB, Monday, 13 June 2005 20:46 (twenty years ago)

Yes, I'd much rather have him free to molest at will.

I gotta say, Tim, that precisely because our system is somewhat fucked, the very fact that a person of his wealth and stature has had enough dirt on him to ram the case through the grand jury to an actual trial - that alone is a big fat guilty verdict.

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:50 (twenty years ago)

i'm with tim...i really cant decide what to think on those issues. since the begining i think there has not been enough time spent on the roles the parents took. not in a good/bad parent way but concerning the obsession with lashing yourself to the glow about stars and stardom. regardless of the verdict, we still arent focusing on what i see to be one of the bigger issues at hand....

but thank god hes nt off to prision...what a damned waste thatd be...

b b, Monday, 13 June 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

I'm not judging the case one way or the other. All I'm saying is that people convicted of crimes should not just rot. Yes, they should be incarcerated, but it doesn't have to be horrible conditions until they die and they should be made to do actual work - not cruel slave labor, but something genuinely meaningful and needed so that they can at least partly redeem some of their lives.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:52 (twenty years ago)

You seriously think that if Michael jackson were found guilty, he would go to a general population jail?! Are you five years old? What do you think all those incessant visits to the ER with his "back problem" were for?

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:55 (twenty years ago)

No. And fuck you. Did I say this? Wherever he'd go, he'd just stir like everybody else and it'd be a fucking waste.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:56 (twenty years ago)

this thread is inferior to the one on ILE

Jimmy Mod Is Great At Getting Us Into Trouble (ModJ), Monday, 13 June 2005 20:58 (twenty years ago)

right

and its clear as punch that he has nearly no concept of how the majority of people interact. he may be plain nuts (and considering the life hes had, understandably so) so someone should quit all the yessir, mr jackson shit and get him somewhere where he can get a grip...

put him on a wierd rock in the middle of the sea so these rabid fans can swim up to him like an oracle (and hopefully get quite done in trying)

b b, Monday, 13 June 2005 21:02 (twenty years ago)

Great, now FREE THE WEST MEMPHIS THREE...

Ten years and counting...

horrible conditions until they die

Yes, you did say this. x-post

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Monday, 13 June 2005 21:04 (twenty years ago)

i don't think anyone goes to jail and has a party. its still serious shit - your life is pretty much over.

Susan Douglas (Susan Douglas), Monday, 13 June 2005 21:14 (twenty years ago)

From what I heard, Jackson probably would have been in the special needs ward living in an 8x12 cell w/ a mattress on a cement block, toilet in the room, etc.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Monday, 13 June 2005 21:21 (twenty years ago)

Did you mean 8x10?!

The fuck it is. He's HATED. Notice how most people even here on the liberal old internet figure he's guilty?
