Holy. I forgot I started this thread. I didn't make it to a single night, total bummer.

Thanks- I would have liked to have seen more of it too. The Shipp/Mateen/Parker/Bennink set was also pretty good, though I was getting pretty tired by that time (they didn't go on until after midnight) so perhaps my enjoyment of it was somewhat diminished near the end.

three years pass...

Saw part of the Sunday show -- just caught the inaptly named "Planet Dream" and the Fred Anderson Trio with William Parker and Hamid Drake. Both were pretty good but slightly disappointing, the latter because as much of a monster he is for an 80-year-old, Fred Anderson is still an 80-year-old, and I got the sense that he wasn't always hearing William Parker very well or was just in his own world.
