Songs dealing with issues in Cognitive Science

Ok bear with me, I teach cognitive science at a Uni, and I have plans on offering a course looking at cognitive science through the lense of fiction- i.e. film, literature (including comic books Id imagine), and hopefully music.

The goal is to look at fiction (esp. science fiction) and how close is the science to the fiction? E.g. will we ever consider computers sentient beings?

Now, film and literature are rather easy (e.g. Philip Dick, Asimov,) but does anyone have any 'listenable' songs that deal with issues of cognitive science? Im not really looking for songs that simply have a theme like 'aliens' or 'the future' - Id like it to be worthwhile to students... thanks.

Flaming Lips had a track on Yoshimi about an emotive robot..from their web site:

02. One More Robot - Sympathy 3000-21

Unit three thousand twenty one is warning
Makes a humming sound - when its circuits
Duplicate emotions - and a sense of coldness detaches
As it tries to comfort your sadness -

One more robot learns to be something more than
A machine - when it tries the way it does - make it seem
Like it can love -
Cause it's hard to say what's real - when you know the
Why you feel - is it wrong to think it's love
When it tries the way it does...

Feeling a synthetic kind of love
Dreaming a sympathetic wish -
As the lights blink faster and brighter -

One more robot learns to be something more than
A machine - when it tries the way it does - make it seem
Like it can love -
Cause it's hard to say what's real - when you know the
Why you feel - is it wrong to think it's love
When it tries the way it does...

"Where your eyes don't go," by They Might Be Giants, esp. the "Every jumbled pile of person" verse, is all over this.

Where your eyes don't go a filthy scarecrow waves its broomstick arms
And does a parody of each unconscious thing you do
When you turn around to look it's gone behind you
On its face it's wearing your confused expression
Where your eyes don't go

Where your eyes don't go a part of you is hovering
It's a nightmare that you'll never be discovering
You're free to come and go or talk like Kurtis Blow
But there's a pair of eyes in back of your head

Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders
What the part that isn't thinking isn't thinking of
Should you worry when the skullhead is in front of you
Or is it worse because it's always waiting where your eyes don't go?

Where your eyes don't go a part of you is hovering
It's a nightmare that you'll never be discovering
You're free to come and go or talk like Kurtis Blow
But there's a pair of eyes in back of your head

Where your eyes don't go a filthy scarecrow waves its broomstick arms
And does a parody of each unconscious thing you do
When you turn around to look it's gone behind you
On its face it's wearing your confused expression
Where your eyes don't go

Grandaddy - "Jed the Humanoid"

The Grandaddy album The Sophtware Slump fits this to a T. There's even a song about a depressed robot that kills himself in a fit of despair. Just around the time they pay a visit to the Broken Household Appliance National Forest.
