Absolutely not, Zion. That track pawns.

the easy answer is, anything off of Machine + Soul. other than that, the correct answer is "the need." it definitely is NOT "the 1930s rust," which at worst is just kinda dorky and out-of-place.

i've always had a particular loathing for "she's got claws", especially its stupid fucking glonking bass.

there are no bad Gary Numan songs

Banana Nutrament (ghostface), Saturday, 18 June 2005 06:16 (twenty years ago)

I would love to believe you, Banana, but I have studiously avoided the minefield of Numa-era Numan and I'm sure that is where all the dud tracks are. I am no expert on this era although if I ever see the Sharp/Numan album it will definitely get a listen.

Personally, Zion, I haven't ever heard a bad Numan track, and 'She's Got Claws' is mentalist good fun to my ears. If we're talking prime Numan era, I nominate the slightly cheesy instrumental version of Eric Satie's 'Trois Gymnopedies' (a b-side, to Cars I think) or one of his other cheesy instrumentals, 'When The Machines Rock' or 'Airlane'.

Now he's back on track, I don't hear any dud tracks in the newer industrial rock material. It's all good stuff, though I do pine for the kind of sound he had in 1979-1982. Perhaps that sound is now impossible to recapture.

three weeks pass...

it pains me greatly to say so, but i disagree.

"airlane" roolz!! ("trois gymnopedies" is OK, but "when the machines rock" is kinda lame.)
