This might have been discussed several times, but i still havent found the answer anywhere.
Do we know who is behind rex the dog by now?
I am still listening to their tracks a lot. The sound sometimes ressembles a lot of trancey stuff that I really can't stand, but i inexplicably love all their tracks...

Not yet, as far as I know, but Daniel Miller seems to be the top guess.

I heard it was Michael Jackson.

Won't someone think of the puppies?

Hasn't he emailed Geeta Dayal once? I remember reading on her blog she knew his identity. I could be wrong of course.

I thought it was common knowledge that it is JX/Jake Williams.

Yes, this seems confirmed here :

"JX who shot to fame in 1993 as a 16 year old with dance anthem Son of a Gun"
But i dont remember that tune at all

it's brilliant!

"You Belong To Me" was their big top 40 hit though.

Siegbran (eofor), Saturday, 18 June 2005 11:58 (twenty years ago)

"son of a gun" got to number 6 in the U.K. and "there's nothing i won't do" got to number 4. "you belong to me" peaked at number 17. I can't actually remember that one (or never heard it).

Ah, didn't know that. I always hear "You Belong To Me" in those 'back to the 90s' radio shows/mixes and never the other ones.

Just found out that Jake Williams was behind Mekka "Diamondback" which is a fantastic track similar to Sasha "Xpander".

So, with restless (rex the dog mic) by Jx - he remixed himself?
Have you heard his minimix : http://www.rexthedog.net/minimix.mp3
mel & Kim were the only SAW i liked at the time and "theme from S Express" is one of the first track i was obsessed about... So I understand better why i love rex the dog now...

Arnault (arc73hk), Saturday, 18 June 2005 14:13 (twenty years ago)

"There's Nothing I Won't Do" is awesome and you can sing it over the top of almost any Rex teh Dog track/remix which I think reveals something..

discogs claims Jx was 16 in 1993, but the rex website implies that rex the dog was born (or conceived, it's vague) in 1974. Pretty close, I'd bet discogs has his age wrong.

he was listed for a Fabric night not too long ago

but alas, no reports
