I'd also like to know where Mr. Cohen did his research, though: "Mould is under no illusion about the financial windfall a Huskers reunion could produce for himself, bassist Grant Hart and drummer Greg Norton."

Oh look, they've corrected it.

Also, Grant confirmed the thing about Ginn. Apparently, not even J. Mascis & Lou Barlow have seen any dough from the Dino Jr t-shirts that SST sold over the years.

I was just talking about this with a friend yesterday.
Of the main bands, is it just the Minutemen and Husker Du who haven't sued SST(or however they get control of their catalogs)yet?

Oh look, they've corrected it.

They did? I'm still seeing "bassist Grant Hart and drummer Greg Norton" on RS.com and it may not be that big a deal, but it's still wrong.

Anyway - is it me or does this SST situation sound exactly the same as the Some Bizarre/Stevo (Neubauten/Foetus/etc) story? Or is it more complicated than that?

"Three years ago I tried to create an arrangement where I would get the other two guys to sign off and get out of the way, so I could proceed with trying to get the catalog back and do something that would be beneficial for all of us," Mould continues.

What a dick. Hart said in MOJO a few months ago that Mould tried to buy off out Husker Du rights. As if Hart didn't found the group and write most of the band's best songs.

he sounds like evil

I spoke with G. Hart at length about this a few weeks ago.

A Husker reunion would never happen because Greg is committed to his restaurant and his relationship. He can't justify going on tour.

Plus Mould and Hart simply don't like each other, by the sounds of it.

I guess Mould has turned into a gym bunny. Works out ALL the time. And DJs.

Brooker Buckingham (Brooker B), Saturday, 18 June 2005 23:10 (twenty years ago)

What kind of music does he play Brooker?

stevo (stevo), Sunday, 19 June 2005 01:10 (twenty years ago)

Gross, he hasn't turned into Joe Piscopo, has he?

Bob spins a lot of deep house, or so the reports go. mainly in DC and NYC. he's going back out on the road lately, but he had all those "Blowout" gigs.

kingfish (Kingfish), Sunday, 19 June 2005 02:46 (twenty years ago)

in my interview with him, Grant didn't want to do it, since he talked about how it would become some sorta crutch, where when the re-uniting band would need money, they'd just go on tour again, and it would lessen the specialness of the original thing.

of course, this was in July 2003. Perhaps he's changed his mind since.

if you haven't heard it, hit me on at Slsk("MooJohnson"), or do a search for Grant Hart Interview or "WCBN" or some shit.
