Make-Out Music Through The Ages

So when I was in college, we were all making out to Avalon, and then Massive Attack, I guess, and I remember for Douglas Adams it was Dire Straits...

But what are the kids making out to today?

Colour Me Badd. They're timeless.

Seriously though, I've made out to Nothing's Shocking, Doolittle and Public Enemy. Kids'll make out to anything if they're horny enough. My friends didn't really have any makeout albums as far as I know. It was just whatever was playing on the mixtape when everyone got drunk enough to suck face.

I made out to the Weather Channel once.

Would have to recommend "Moon Safari" by Air.

HAHAHAH... The Weather Channel!

Moon Safari! That is what I'm talking about!

It's not that kids won't make out to anything, it's that at these intervals they all start making out to the same thing. What else attained the level of not timeless cliche (e.g., Barry White) but period cliche?

Barry Manilow? Lionel Richie? Mantovani?

Enigma? ("Sadeness" pwned for three weeks in 1990, right?)

The ol' Gregorian chant up-the-shirt? Can such energy be harnessed?

moon safari! most definalty totally the best make-out album in my collection at least.

i also like built to spill's theres nothing wrong with love. i dunno, something about it is just youthful and cutsy and totally works.

unfortuanly all my current girlfriend listens to are crappy nirvana/creed ripoffs and complains when there is anything on. it sucks beint 17.

I'm not certain about what I've made out to, but I've had sex to Catherine Wheel, Bjork, Massive Attack, The Damned, and Captain Beefheart.

Well, I know I've made out during sex, but I meant just plain making out with no further inappropriate deviancy.

i made out to siouxsie and the banshees' tinderbox once, and the only good thing that came of that is that i now know that tinderbox is fucking GREAT

i never put music on when making out/having sex anymore though. it just strikes me as totally unnecessary - i don't really need to create a "sexy" mood/atmosphere if what i'm doing is inherently sexy, yknow?

joseph (joseph), Sunday, 19 June 2005 04:36 (twenty years ago)

(i didn't mean to make it sound like my appreciation of tinderbox is entirely predicated on the make-out associations, it isn't)

joseph (joseph), Sunday, 19 June 2005 04:37 (twenty years ago)

anything by jewel turns me on so much that when or laone or in company i have sex
