Steve Marriott!

I'll be back in the HIGH LIFE again.

Guess you know where *I* stand on this one.

Indie pop sucks anyway. How many albums could Steve Marriott sell being on Merge? not enough to be Steve Winwood!

Hahaha!

How I wish I got that British vein of "this has or will prob happen" humour

"Indie pop sucks anyway. How many albums could Steve Marriott sell being on Merge? not enough to be Steve Winwood!"

Is no one else laughing at this??!

Alex,

What is really funny about the way a major label conquers an indie label? Could Steven Marriott have been the genius to beat Steve Winwood? We will never know because his label could not promote in order to have an album on the order of "Back in the High Life."

If you want to laugh, pick out a topic that doesn't affect artist's lives.

the small faces always sounded weak to me, but i do enjoy a spencer davis number.

"Back in the highlife" is something I'd like to forget unless im actually drinking the champagne of beers..

so..no, neither thanks.

Winwood, purely on the basis of "While You See a Chance," one of my favorite songs of all time. In fact, I need to go listen to that now b/c I just had an article shot down and I need a shot of reaffirmation.

Small Faces weak!? They may have been small but they definitely had power.

walter kranz (walterkranz), Tuesday, 21 June 2005 19:04 (twenty years ago)

oops.

Meant to say, switch that around pls. "All Or Nothing" slays anything the SDG ever did.

JAS, Tuesday, 21 June 2005 19:04 (twenty years ago)

"Gimme Some Lovin'" is great, and some his '80s yuppie-schlock still works; his synth work on shit like "The Finer Things" and "Higher Love" is tops.

Steve Winwood is my godfather's uncle and 'Call on Me' by Eric Prydz is a banger so I'll plump for him
