Why hasn't Avril's "Together" been released as a single?

To me, this is the second best song on the album. It could be characterized as too much like "My Happy Ending," but it's a little softer and really like the perfect combo of ballad with pop-rock riffage. It's possible I'm wrong on this (i.e., on it not having been released, not on the goodness of the song), but I don't think it has been. Did they want to go in a more upbeat direction with "He Wasn't"? Or what?

Perhaps her record company has given up on the album.

No. "He Wasn't" was released pretty recently, I believe. So it's not like singles haven't been coming out. Just not this one.

I haven't heard the album, but I can't imagine that there is anything on there better than "together." The chorus is so huge and full of (faux) angst. Great for shouting along to in the car.

There's lots of great stuff on the Avril album. The real lost-single on it is "Slipped Away" which is basically "I'm With You" except with a piano instead of a cello.

See, I'm partial to "My Happy Ending," since that's the one that initially sucked me into full-on Avril love (and it's even bigger on the chorus than "Together"), but there is indeed tons of good stuff on the album.
