Has any ILMers built there own car mp3 system?

If anyone has built one of these, tell us about it. I'd like to know the pitfalls in advance before I start.

I don't know about a car, but I souped up a white couch that not only plays MP3s but shares them on the bluebird as well. It plays grime, Kylie, baile funk and lots of obscure shit from 1981. Also the complete Gay Dad catalog, chopped and screwed.

I've done the cheapskates version i.e line out cassette adaptor into tape deck. Works well too.

I don't own an iPod. But I already have all the parts to build a system right now. It's cheaper than an iPod too. All the parts are scavenged, so the only thing it'll cost me is maybe $20 for some cables. (Maybe a bit if I want to put a big-ass harddrive in it. 40gigs might not be enough.)

I bought an in-dash player that handles mp3 cds. Hitting shuffle on a cd that has 130 songs on it usually lasts me a month.
