You know the score, a musical style evolves, and consists of the true exponents of the medium, and as soon as it happens, other musicians that were happy exponents of the previous style jump to the new one.

However, for all the faking, this doesn't mean that the record(s) they made was absolutely dire in all cases. In some cases, they added to the genre and helped the evolution.

So, let's Search & Destroy: A Good one and then a bad one...

Punk/New Wave (natch)
Search: John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett : Really Free
Destroy: Tonight : The Drummer Man

Now, does there exist another hit single with the word "majorette" in its lyrics?

Destroy: Howard Jones - "New" Song

Now Howard Jones used to play "Angies" (basically a barn up the road from us in Emmbrook, don't look for it, it's not there anymore and neither am I), where John Otway used to play regularly.

Anyhow, Howard had all the keyboards/headphone mike, and that bloke dancer in chains too. He's for real, man!

You haven't seen Howard Jones' wedding photo from 1976 then.

Well, I've seen mine, and I never went on tour like that. (I never went on tour, but that's a minor point)

(If you want both to be the same genre, my 'Search' needs to be the Happy Mondays)
