cos you got a nine minute eYe rmx of ken ishii as Flare's "Turbinates" that sounds nothing like "Turbinates" what it does sound like is a groovy phased martian squirm with kazoos & lo tech biscuit tin effects of some sort. rest of record not bad also - child's view mix ok - source material ok of course. you should be able to pick it up cheap - i don't think it sold very well when it came out -just soze ye know !!!!

Child's View is Nobukazu Takemura, non?

dog latin (dog latin), Thursday, 23 June 2005 17:45 (twenty years ago)

oui.

the standouts on Re-Grip aren't eYe's mix but those contributed by Rei Harakami (always reliable) and Dr. Why Sheep?, Yoshihiro Sawasaki. imho. but it's an all-around solid collection.

It's pretty good. Cornelius' first (or second) ever remix opens the set, and it gets better.

Why Sheep is Gaku Uchida, not YS.

Whoah, at first I thought this was saying that there was an eYe remix of LD Beghtol's torch-band Flare . . . that would be a sneak attack . . ..

i have answers to most of your questions!

also: his favorite jams are neu!, kraftwerk ('especially when they had long hair and were called organisation'), can and faust. he started listening to xenakis when he was 11 years old and stockhausen when he was around 13. i asked him about his cooking skills and he says he's not so good at it. he has a deep appreciation for tea, though, and rocks the tea ceremonies. he wore black mirrored shades the entire time i talked with him (two hours!) that made him look like he was from the future. he was shocked and psyched when i told him that there was an EYE remix of 'cosmic surfing' cuz he's never heard it! one of us should send it to him.

Heh. That's what I thought, too.
