This song has been stuck in my head ever since I first heard it. Most infectious song of the year.

OTMFM. It haunts my every waking hour. Does an MP3 of this exist? Is the backing track from something else? Those rolling synths... the cadence of the verses.

ADVICE: DO NOT click on Beetlejuice's personal homepage... it literally contains video footage of Beet having hardcore sex with some strippers at a bachelor party. It's incredibly disturbing.

The exploitation of this poor man is completely unjustifiable. But, it's true... that song... a goddamned masterpiece.

BEETLE IS THE BEST AND HE KNOWS

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 23 June 2005 22:51 (twenty years ago)

Yes! All day today and yesterday. Howard started the show the other day by singing it, so I guess it's stuck in his head, too.

Me too!!!!!, Thursday, 23 June 2005 23:37 (twenty years ago)

someone find an mp3, please.

Richard Christie is about the best thing to happen to that show since Beetle, so it's nice to see them working together on a project.

Stoner Guy, Friday, 24 June 2005 00:04 (twenty years ago)

where did that richard christie guy come from?

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 24 June 2005 00:06 (twenty years ago)

Iced Earth and Death! He won a contest and quit his day job as a drummer.

Stoner Guy, Friday, 24 June 2005 00:07 (twenty years ago)

HE'S AS BAD AS CAN

Howard started off the show this morning singing the Beetlejuice song. That's the one where Beetle just started riffing in the back studio one day and Richard Christy made up some original music to put behind him. Howard tried to just sing the lyrics himself to the track, but it wasn't working out so well so he started trying to harmonize with Beetle instead. Robin was pretty impressed that Beetle kept going back to the same chorus, but Richard told her he and Sal had just looped the one chorus over and over. Howard asked if Sal really helped or did Richard feel he just has to credit him. Richard said he and Sal always credit each other even if one of them doesn't work on a bit. A few of the guys from E! came in to sing along with the song and Richie Wilson said it was one of the most addictive songs he'd ever heard. Howard wanted Beetle to record a whole album of songs, but Richard said this will probably be it considering Beetle has never wanted to sing again since his original performance. Robin suggested using some Scores girls to get him in a good mood to sing again.

he won the contest to replace stuttering john? and when did sal become a show regular?

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 24 June 2005 00:08 (twenty years ago)

Same time. They both won, sort of. They felt bad for Sal, if I remember correctly, but I think Richard really won.

Stoner Guy, Friday, 24 June 2005 00:09 (twenty years ago)

i just started driving to work for the summer three weeks agi and i'm in love with horward again.

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 24 June 2005 00:09 (twenty years ago)

AGO

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 24 June 2005 00:09 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, he got funny again. Now I'm going to miss him because I doubt I'll get Sirius.

Stoner Guy, Friday, 24 June 2005 00:11 (twenty years ago)

Another great Beetlejuice bit is "Beetlejuice Lies" mp3 off Limewire. It's like 15 minutes long and it's only 5mb. Good to just keep for when you need some of that "Who me?" nonsense. There's a slight bit of rapping, but mostly just a bunch of insane dialogue where he lies about everything under the sun.

Stoner Guy, Friday, 24 June 2005 00:12 (twenty years ago)

just when i thought i could contain this song to my morning drive, i now find myself listening to it at work

thanks dudes

Sal the Stockbroker giving Richard Christie the "Bandit Mask" yesterday was one of the funniest things I have ever heard in my life.

Didn't Christie also play in Dokken briefly? I think he said that one morning.

God, it would be so hard to justify getting Sirius for a 20 minute morning commute (and 1/2 the time I get in the car and get the "More Howard Stern in 2 Minutes!" thing, which means 25 more minutes of ads)... but I am tempted...

On a Strict El Cholo Diet (Bent Over at the Arclight), Friday, 24 June 2005 01:15 (twenty years ago)

sirius has no ads. people subscribe to it. whether or not howard will take little breaks is another story.

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 24 June 2005 01:18 (twenty years ago)

Howard was talking about running commercials on his show on Sirius a couple days ago quite matter of factly. I do believe he will be bringing commercials to what is now a commercial-free medium. Just like cable TV. Maybe regular radio will end up being about as useful as UHF.

Stoner Guy, Friday, 24 June 2005 01:23 (twenty years ago)

I assume it's hard to run a 4 hours show without breaks. And Howard said he has always prided himself on his abilities to sell products. I don't mind the ads. There's commercials on cable TV, so just as long as the breaks aren't quite as long as they are now.

billstevejim (billstevejim), Friday, 24 June 2005 02:45 (twenty years ago)

I just don't like the idea that we get to pay for it and then they get rich off commercials too (like cable tv) if regular radio does go the way of UHF. Because, just like cable tv, satellite radio will get censored. The idea that you can't censor it because people pay for it is nonsense.

Stoner Guy, Friday, 24 June 2005 02:49 (twenty years ago)

Oh shit, good call. Well that hasn't haulted South Park's sponsors, and they've had episodes where they said "shit" 162 times. I'm sure whoever runs ads on Sirius will be aware of what they're getting themselves into, and I guess all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that it won't go any farther than that. And I'm sure it won't effect everyone. HBO still has no sponsors.

billstevejim (billstevejim), Friday, 24 June 2005 02:53 (twenty years ago)

"So if you really love me, darling, bring me Beetlejuice!"

Oh wait.

one month passes...
about 30 seconds ago, the horrible, whiny Staind ruined the fabulous "Beetlejuice Song" by turning it into one of thier dreadful dirges on the Stern show.

veronica moser (veronica moser), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 12:12 (twenty years ago)

I thought it was hilarious- a completely straight-faced remake of something that is barely even a song. Best thing staind's ever done, easily!

richardk (Richard K), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:32 (twenty years ago)

You were listening to Howard Stern and expecting something non-dreadful?

nabisco (nabisco), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 18:37 (twenty years ago)

What is this "Beetlejuice Song"?

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

Yeah ditto. And repost.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 21:12 (twenty years ago)

Here's the original. Anyone have the Staind version?

The Staind version is funny, but lacks the charm of the original, obviously.

Dr. Glen Y. Abreu (dr g), Wednesday, 10 August 2005 21:53 (twenty years ago)

Found it. Cracked me up.
