I vaguely remember seeing a TV performance of Roxy music with Eno in the band doing "Do The Strand" or something. audio's good too, but mainly what VIDEO footage is out there of the Roxy/Eno lineup and how easy is it to find? I'd really like to see this stuff. Official? bootlegs? i got nothing.

I have that DVD as an NTSC/Region 1. Bought it for something like $8.00 when new from DVD Empire and it promptly went out of print. The Roxy bits are excellent (there's 1 clip with Wetton/Jobson Roxy, too). Also has some great classic era T Rex performances on there.

There's a "Best Of Roxy Music" video available in the states (I have it on VHS, but I think it is also on DVD now) that has a video for "Remake/Remodel" w/Eno. Not a live performance, but an actual lip-synched video. And a pretty damn cool one at that.

I have an all-region DVD called Get It On The Seventies DVD Jukebox with a bunch of bands, include Roxy doing The Strand and All I Want Is You (I'm pretty sure no was with them, maybe a Musik Laden episode?) It also has Ferry doing A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall. From Classic Pictures Entertainment, 2003.

no = Eno, not trying to be oblique here.

Those MusikLaden performances are awesome. I think I've rented them on both VHS and DVD so they're definitely available in the US in one form or another.

I have the same DVD, with T-Rex, bought it at Virgin for like, nothing.

Also, look for the "First Kiss" BBC session boot.

So I'm a little confused. Does the "Inside Roxy Music" DVD have exactly the same Roxy footage as the T-Rex/Roxy MusikLaden one?

I know some come from the reality (wetmink), Friday, 24 June 2005 22:35 (twenty years ago)

There are some mpgs prolifterating on the file-sharing networks... I have "Remake/Remodel", "Do the Strand", and I think maybe "Virginia Plain", all with Eno in classic glam mode... they might be from the set cutty linked to, I have no idea.

i can't answer your question, wetmink, because i haven't seen the t-rex/musikladen stuff. i think these performances were from the top of the pops, though.

The "Total Recall" compilation (available on VHS, no idea if it's on DVD) has a lot of fantastic Eno-era footage: performances of "Remake/Remodel," "Do The Strand," and "Ladytron," among others.
