gorge, don't you have the whole album? could you describe some of the remaining songs? That would be awesome.

"Zoom", seven minute opener. Very, very dark-sounding for the furries. Huge, rolling sound that kind of reminds me of Spoon's "Beast and Dragon Adored" except with a symphony and choir! Opens with the sound of one of the band members jumping into a pool.
"Atomik Lust", the first non-Gruff song (of many). Starts all lovely and humming, occasionally going into a rock-out section that is unusually abrasive in a sludgy sort of way. The song doesn't quite gel for me yet.
"Lazer Beam", first single, and better than I was expecting. Driving, scratchy groove + lovely string parts and a chorus of "take a shine on the lazerbeam / it'll cleanse all the evil within you". Vocoder/handclap breakdown. Reminds me a bit of "Valet Parking", which is a good thing.
"Oi Frango!", a pretty inconsequential two-minute instrumental. Acoustic guitar and a "bopping-along" bassline.
"Cabin Fever", a six-minute piano, drum machine, choir, strings n' music box ballad, the closing track. Lyrics quite unlike any other Furries track - "welcome back my friend / where the hell ahve you been / it's nice to see you smile again". Nice little synth burbles throughout. Very, very lush, and a nice arrangement on Sean O'Hagan's part.
First impresions: highly promising. I just hope the rest holds up as well. I know that "Frequency", which will certainly be the second single, will ge gorgeous on record, and "Cloudberries" should be nice as well.

no - say no to the leak. those five tracks were brilliant, but I'm holding out. I haven't listened to any of them since last week, when I said I'd delete them.

I picked it up, but then I had second thoughts.
Silly me.

Might even enthrall me more than the version I got from the top link!
Blimey, how many times have I played this? And still can't recall any of it.
