I think the post-Angus band may have had better songs, but I missed the ear splitting vox 12-string which largely made the earlier tunes (esp. the Take The Subway... comp version of I'll Still Be There and Sorry to Embarrass You).
For me, their real high point was I Heard You the First Time ... a contender for best single of 1987 imo.

It was the last track on the Doing It For The Kids comp, but when I bought one of their albums I remember being quite disappointed.

Somewhat disappointing, but not dud exactly: the albums.
Impossible to find: the Caff single. I don't remember it being all that great anyway.
