Sat. 7/30, Sun. 7/31... in Seattle.

Nothing (IMHO) too exciting in the full lineup yet, with the possible exception of Built To Spill headlining Sunday July 31st. But it's still too early to tell.

But I'm glad there's a Decibel Festival stage happening.. Jerry Abstract is a great great DJ...

Doomsday 1999, Akimbo,

yay!

donut e-g (donut), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 22:49 (twenty years ago)

Agreed, the lineup isn't that exciting. Oh well, I'll be seeing Bob Dylan that weekend anyway.

van nostrum (Buck Van Smack), Wednesday, 29 June 2005 22:53 (twenty years ago)

Well this is still a month away, so who knows. I always think about going to this every year and I never do. Maybe this year will be different.

Heard the Cribs recently. God they suck.

The Silent Disco of Glastonbury (Bimble...), Thursday, 30 June 2005 03:07 (twenty years ago)

I'm hoping the secret trick this year will be the Decibel stage.. hopefully Caro will play live?

donut e-g (donut), Thursday, 30 June 2005 07:28 (twenty years ago)

These Arms Are Snakes aren't bad.

Dan A, Friday, 1 July 2005 02:45 (twenty years ago)

i'll agree to disagree. :)

Blue Scholars are playing too... promising live show I hear? This may turn out to be a great fest for the NON-rock acts this year... nice change of pace..

I enboldened the things that seem interesting to me, just FYI.. those TBA's could be interesting.

donut e- (donut), Monday, 11 July 2005 18:04 (twenty years ago)

uh, that looks like about 30 more reasons not to go this year either. Cap Hill Block Party is a waste of space. Of course, other than Zions Gate and Platinum, there's no reason to be on those blocks anyway. if i wanted to watch a semi-talented musician i'd put a mirror in front of my laptop/decks set-up. The thought of mingling with "The Stanger" cockwads further pushes this out of my realm of possibilities.

biz, Monday, 11 July 2005 22:00 (twenty years ago)

Is Yaphet Kotto Yaphet Kotto or some band who swiped his name?

miccio (miccio), Monday, 11 July 2005 22:02 (twenty years ago)

where's the gogo stage?

Ô¿Ô (eman), Monday, 11 July 2005 22:09 (twenty years ago)

oh, that Capitol Hill

Ô¿Ô (eman), Monday, 11 July 2005 22:10 (twenty years ago)

biznotic i missed you.

see y'all at the decibel stage.

jergins (jergins), Monday, 11 July 2005 22:10 (twenty years ago)

Come on, name names, sunshine.

Trollerhonix, Monday, 11 July 2005 23:21 (twenty years ago)

I do like The Stanger as a new meme though (nothing against The Stranger at all! I'm just gonna call people "The Stanger" from now on.. like biz!)

donut e- (donut), Monday, 11 July 2005 23:24 (twenty years ago)

12:45am Chuck Yay-grr!

???

Ô¿Ô (eman), Monday, 11 July 2005 23:28 (twenty years ago)

Special quarter-to-1am performance. I know, weird.

All TBA's aside, I admit this doesn't look as initially stellar as the last few lineups, but I always discover new bands through this moreso than most festivals, certainly.. so I'm there. Got my tickets. Yay.

donut e- (donut), Monday, 11 July 2005 23:31 (twenty years ago)

i meant to say discover new great bands.. (forgot the "great")

donut e- (donut), Monday, 11 July 2005 23:31 (twenty years ago)

Is Yaphet Kotto Yaphet Kotto or some band who swiped his name?

Anthony, the latter, I'm afraid.. based on the photos of the band's site. (Then again, who knows how these guys will be.)

I'm not sure if I'll be up there on Saturday, but I'll probably go up on Sunday & so I'll keep an eye out to say hello. The electronic stage sounds most interesting right now.
