I'm making this for the girls and the summertime and all the good years still to come.

Blissed out good vibes with unselfconscious positivity flowing like the golden locks on a flower child.

Recommendations, please.

Superpitcher-Happiness? (Lawrence mix?)

Uhhhhhhhhh...I guess things like Ce Ce Rogers' "Someday" and Aly-Us' "Follow Me" would fall under this umbrella because of their content. A lot of early vocal house would.

The Beloved!

not exactly house, but the Weatherall "Come Together" could probably work here.

The Good Dr. Bill (The Good Dr. Bill), Friday, 1 July 2005 16:28 (twenty years ago)

also Chems' "Private Psychedelic Reel" and Fatboy Slim's extremely underrated "Song for Shelter"

i think that's about word-for-word what Sound Tribe Sector Nine would call their music, although they'd add something about 'the transformative healing power of crystals' or the like.

Note: this is not me recommending you listen to STS9.

not exactly house

Also not house, but Orbital-Belfast!

Joe Smoooth, "Promised Land" would probably work

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Friday, 1 July 2005 16:35 (twenty years ago)

Oh, and David Morales remix of Jamiroquai's "Space Cowboy," which is a house song about WEED. Also, Paul Johnson talks about pot in "I Need You," if that makes it count.

Can't remember the name of it but track 4 on The Drum Club's Drums Are Dangerous - the one that goes "Yep, I know that feeling..." It's the most shamelessly hippy-dippy house track ever.

Any Hardkiss, but especially the Mixed Messages mix which Vahid inspired me to pull out again this weekend - it's even better than I remembered!

Any Bobby Konders tracks with flutes on them.

Haha, then can Frankie Knuckles' "The Whistle Song" count, too?

Does Opus III count? If so, you MUST use "I Talk To The Wind".

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 4 July 2005 06:18 (twenty years ago)

Almost any track off Ultramarine's Every Man and Woman is a Star LP would fit your purposes, but my particular favourite is "Stella".

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 4 July 2005 07:27 (twenty years ago)

Mental Generation 'Cafe Del Mar'
Audio Deluxe '60 Seconds'
Corporation Of One 'The Real Life' (samples of Bo Rap with 'Theme For Great Cities')
Morgan King 'Free'
Aphex Twin 'Analogue Bubblebath'
Sub Sub 'Past'
Faze Action 'In The Trees'

Infected Mushroom stuff, maybe? That seems to go over well with the cyber-hippy shamen types.
