classic. sometimes i like keith's voice better than mick's.

evidence: "you got the silver," maybe the most moving stones song ever.

Overall, I seem to be partial to the songs Keef sings, aswell.
Now, his solo stuff, however...

keef's solo alb is actually pretty choice - great singing throughout, and a gd band - it's def better than any stones alb since some girls...

His first solo album is great, though I'm partial to Emotional Rescue, which must be the most underrated Stones album. On more recent Stones albums I tend to prefer Keith's songs, particularly "You Don't Have to Mean It."

There's a totally wild "Happy" vocal on the 'Definitive Brussels Affair' bootleg.

my first stones album was Voodoo Lounge when i was around 13 i guess. my favorite stones tune from that time till i actually bought the older stones albums was "The worst", which keith sings.

so, Classic, obviously

Who could debate the uber-classicness of Keef's vocals on "Happy"? Nobody worth talking to, that's for sure.

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Saturday, 2 July 2005 18:42 (nineteen years ago)

I'm partial to Keith's vox on "Coming Down Again" off the very underrated Goats Head Soup. But he's righteous on "Happy," too.

Dunno if I love it more for itself, or just as a momentary reprieve from Mick Jagger - either way, yeah: great singing, great song. The high point of Exile's second disc. Can't understand 2/3 of the words, but that applies to many songs on that album. At least for that one song, I just find Keith's voice more, I dunno, "euphonious" than Mick's - same way that OTHER Mick's singing always came as a relief, except that Joe Strummer always allotted him more than one lead vocal per LP.

BIG FREAKING CLASSIC!

Keith was a choirboy as a child. His mother said he "had the voice of an angel" until puberty.

(This is true!)

Richard's singing backup is also classic. Outside of the Stones, there is also some nice Keith vocals on "That Feel" off of Tom Waits' Bone Machine.

thirteen years pass...

My favorite Keef tracks.

Your sweetie-pie-coo-coo I love ya (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 25 December 2018 04:20 (six years ago)

I backed up, ad hoc, some rote bar cover dude on this song and he said “you sound just like Keith”
I took this as “ you can’t sing” which is pretty much correct

if a jukebox has this song i'm playing it
