MARK MY WORDSLegendary NME scribe Mark Beaumont is to release a solo publication this autumn, it has emerged.
'Mark Beaumont Weekly', or 'The MBW' as he expects people to start calling it, will be a 64-page stream of consciousness from Mark mixing his famous freestyle compound metaphors with lame word-association observational comedy.
Speaking to NME recently, Mark said "The thing about working for NME was, as much as I loved what I was doing, there was rather a tendency to focus on the music rather than whichever outdated comedy references I felt like shoehorning into an already space-restricted album review.
"This way, I'll be given full reign to explore each and every semi-retarded thought process to its full potential, while never deviating from the focus of the magazine which is, after all, me, Mark Beaumont. And if that isn't rock 'n' roll then what is?!?! I'm Mark Beaumont."
'Mark Beaumont Weekly' will appear in all major bookstores starting in September. By October, piles of unsold copies will be available from Clacton market, three for a quid when combined with ancient copies of The Face and Amiga Power.
